On your Team doesn't effect Tim's legacy in anyway if they win it again this year? No?
Only Lebron and Kobe's rankings get effected by shit like this? :confusedshrug:

Who cares if OP is a Kobe stan? He's right. People refer to Kobe being carried by Shaq and LeBron not winning without Wade. Duncan gets praised for winning more but he has had a significantly better situation over his career.
However, OP, are you insinuating that Duncan's legacy would take a shot if they win? No. It just means that another ring wouldn't boost him as much as it would if he was still running the show.
Winning a championship is always a plus.

Duncan hasn't even been the best player on his team for nearly a decade, and wasn't the best player on his last two chip teams (Tony Parker 2007 Finals MVP, Leonard 2014 Finals MVP).
I see you didn't watch that series. Duncan was the best player and, along with Bowen, the most impactful player that Finals. Bowen controlled LeBron on the perimeter, while Duncan protected the rim.
Duncan: 18/12/4 with 1 steal and 2 blocks
Parker: 25/5/4 with 1 steal
Parker clearly robbed Duncan

Duncan also had a better overall performance than Kawhi during last year's Finals. Duncan was good for every game. Kawhi was only great the final 3 games.
Kawhi won based on having more impact during the final 3 wins. Not a bad choice for the MVP but it could have been Duncan.

It depends if you care about peak, Kobe obviously reached higher highs than Duncan. Also Kiwi's accomplishments dont take anything away from TD, Tims just a role player now
Sometimes for Finals MVP they just look at PPG and not care about anything else. Like 2008, Ray Allen actually had a better performance, better shooting, more efficient scoring and was more clutch but Pierce had a slight advantage in PPG and got the MVP.

Lebron > Duncan > Kobe
but... Duncan doesn't get carried by 1 star teammate, he gets carried by the squad. Only player who can come out of his shell 1/10 games and get talk like he's still beasting.

Another offensive bias post. He is still a great defender. Even if his offensive contributions are minimal he is still impacting the game.

Anyone else surprised there aren't more Shaq stans on here? We see this Lebron/Kobe/Duncan >>> X stuff all the time but it's a cluster*ck with them. Shaq stans could calmly talk shit nonstop and no one could really say anything except for MJ stans.

ISH has double standards when it comes to Lebron, Kobe and Jordan, they suppose to be perfect and win only with role players.
Duncan is nothing but a 3rd option on this Spurs team on most nights and everyone acted like he was better then Magic and Bird cause he won last year averaging 16 points.

People assume that Duncan plays as good in the regular season as he plays every now and then in the playoffs. Duncan coasts through the season as a mere role player and saves his energy to have a big playoff game every few games. People don't watch the Spurs play because they're not on national tv that often due to their boring squad. Duncan isn't leading the Spurs anywhere consistently anymore.

Now who hasn't been watching the Spurs this season. As Pop said, Duncan's been consistently their best player this season. Who do you think was keeping the team afloat while Parker and Leonard sat on the bench for so many games this season?
And what is wrong with a player in his late 30s conserving energy for the playoffs (even then he played the 2nd most minutes all regular season and the most last night). When it's important, Duncan shows up.
