I am proposing a side league to the NBA, called the XBA. I'm doing the proposal now to prevent Vince McMahon from coming up with the idea later and stealing my revenue. The league is expected to consist of NBDL players and players who are no longer capable of fully functioning in the NBA.

The XBA will consist of modified rules that make for more intense gameplay. Here are a few proposals so far:

-Instead of jump balls, all 5 players from each team begin at the baseline and race for the ball at midcourt (think of the beginning of a dodgeball match).

-To speed up the game, all 2 shot free throws are now 1 and 1, meaning if they miss the first free throw, they don't get a second.

-Dunks are now worth 3 points. The hand must touch the rim to be counted as a dunk.

-Goaltending via blocking the ball after the ball hits the glass or blocking the ball on its way down is now legal. You can now hit the ball off the rim. Goaltending by reaching through the rim is still goaltending.

-Charging and blocking fouls do not exist.

-Body to body contact is legal when both players are in the air.

-In fouls that ordinarily result in free throws, the offensive team gets to choose whether to take the ball out of bounds or shoot the free throw.

Any suggestions of your own?

Would flagrant fouls exist? I mean without charging fouls and blocking fouls, wouldnt this just turn to football with without pads and a circular ball in a hoop?

Can I preorder a league pass?

Yes. At this time, league pass is at a discounted price of $5 that you pay directly to me through Paypal. PM me if you need the Paypal address.

Notice: All sales are final. No refunds will be given, even in the event that this league never begins.

Flagrant fouls would exist, but not for anything weak. Details on what constitutes a flagrant are yet to be determined.

Since there are no charging fouls, do you anticipate someone like lebron or shaq putting up something like 60ppg on 90% fg by bulldozing their way to the rim?

Would Vince McMahon be commissioner?

-In fouls that ordinarily result in free throws, the offensive team gets to choose whether to take the ball out of bounds or shoot the free throw.

This needs to be in the game yesterday. Why haven't they done this yet? Seriously? Absolutely no down-side here, and you can then remove that stupid "last 2 minutes foul off the ball gives the other team a free throw and the ball back" hack-a-Shaq rule.

Well, this league is expected to be meant for NBDL level players, so only if LeBron thinks the East isn't easy enough.

I guess it would need some thought though... like if they decide to take it out, maybe the shot clock doesn't reset if under 2 minutes left in the game? That way if teams are trying to claw back in the game by going for aggressive steals, you can't just keep resetting to 14 seconds, thus blowing their chances.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

Thought of an important one:

-No TV/officials timeouts.

Steroids should be legal.

Honestly if they made a league with legal steroid use, its viewership would crush the regular NBA in a few years.

Same thing with the NFL. If another league allowed steroid use and we saw roided out dudes crushing each other, which one would people watch?

Yeah. People act like steroids are the devil, but Id like to see what the human body can achieve.
