How come Durant doesn't get criticized at all for not winning with Harden, Westbrook(both top 5 players in the league) and Ibaka who was a DPOY, while his fellow superstars are being scrutized for not winning with Larry Hughes as the best sidekick? I've been watching the NBA for over 30 years and I haven't seen a so called superstar get this kind of free pass. Discuss.

Because deep down, we all realize Durant isn't close to LeBron's level.

Because a team full of 23 year olds aren't supposed to win it all, fk what all the predictions were.
And injuries have derailed their title runs the last 3 years.

Because durant played in an all time great conference.. and faced better teams than his own all the time

Yet, LeBron was getting harsh criticism for not having won at 25.

Harden and Westbrook are both top 5 players in the league now.
1) Is it fair to say a team with 3 top 5 players + a DPOY had to face better teams than them all the time?
2) You would say that Harden and Westbrook weren't this good. Then, was Durant holding back Harden and Westbrook?

Because in 2012, when Durant had Westbrook and Harden, they weren't what they are now, ya know...three years later. At the time Durant and Westbrook were 23 years old and Harden and Ibaka were 22. Harden wasn't what he is now and choked hard in the Finals. That, and they ran into LeBron, Wade, and Bosh all at or near their peaks and in their mid/late 20s.

Implying Harden does anything in the playoffs.

That'd be like criticizing Shaq for not winning it all in '98.
Durant only had one year in which both Westbrook and Harden played at a high level (12), and even then Harden was only playing ~31-33 MPG and not the player he is now.
That'd be like criticizing Shaq for not winning it all in '98.
Kobe fans do criticize him for that, though.
"Couldn't win until Kobe became great!"

Bean stans have always been a special bunch. 15 PPG on 37% shooting is not what I would consider 'great'. But hey, to each his own.

It's great when Kobe does it. Anyone else plays bad in the finals and they are Satan.

Harden played in the 2012 finals?

lol I honestly don't remember Bosh from that series either. Though I DEFINITELY remember him from the ECF
Finals was Bran leading, Wade as the lieutenant and my boy Chalmers stepping up huge, with timely sniping by Miller and Battier.

Because he lost in the Finals to LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.

Fixed.

Uh...Durant averaged 31 ppg on 55 FG% 40 3P% in the Finals at 23
LeBron averaged 22 ppg on 36 FG% 20 3P% in the Finals at 23
Don't even attempt to compare the 2, that's a joke.

Thats because they faced a veteran Lakers team led by kobe/pau/Phil then another vet team in dirk/terry/tyson/Carlisle then lebron/wade/bosh... and so on.. whatever durant had others had and then some . biggest weakness is coaching. Durant has tough circumstances because of conpetition.
ImagiNE thunder in the east since 2011. They'd have a 2 or 3 finals and a ring possibly

He actually took the eventual champs to a 7 game series all by himself at the age of 23 but I wouldnt expect a hick educated fanboy to know any better.
