Instead of Ariza?

Assuming both are healthy.

Pointless agenda thread.

Hell no.

Ariza is a ****ing boss. Dude is a perfect complement to somebody like Harden. Might be the best pickup of any team in the last 10-15 years.

You mean like last year when they didn't make the 2nd round with Parsons?

That's not on Parsons though. Still a newly assembled team.

If Parsons were still a Rocket Houston doesn't finish 2nd. They finish somewhere between 5th-7th place and a first round loss to the Spurs/Clippers etc.

But hypothetically speaking if you swap Ariza for Parsons the series is probably tied after 4 games with Dallas having the momentum going back to Houston.

Point being, I'm so glad Houston didn't match Parsons. Ariza is better and Brewer just adds more depth.

Yes.

Ariza/Parsons aside, this is a different team from last year's team.

Well yeah, obviously.

But swap Parsons with Ariza from game 1, do they still make the second round?

I'm not so sure that they do.

If they have the same first round matchup, yes. The Mavericks are not a very good team right now. Well, they're decent, but they're the worst of the 8 west playoff teams and there's probably 4 eastern conference playoff teams that would beat Dallas in a best-of-seven right now. The Mavericks are a mess and an awful defensive team.

They'd beat an injury depleted Blazers team and the Pelicans, too, but the Pelicans would take them 6 games, if not 7.

They don't need Ariza to beat Dallas.

this series showed how good the role players on the Rockets are

They could beat the mavs with either @ sf or without either. This mavs team fell apart after that trade

Parsons is better than Arizona but Arizona is a perfect fit next to Harden

im not a fan of parsons...but cmon ariza? haha! parsons is better.

im very sad about Tyson chandlers game all over the year and especially in the playoffs so far. he is just overhyped, like he was in 2011. sad.
