not tennis.

I had a pair of Doc Martins awhile back that were perfect but it was a long ass time ago. I am looking for something along these lines but want to try something different. Basically shoes for nice jeans and nice shirt, not overly dressy, just casual nice.

something like these. i wish the soles were darker tho.

Invest on some cowboy boots. Is the only thing that looks nice with that.

Never understood wearing dress shoes with jeans. Jeans originated as the pants miners and diggers wore. Theyre a casual pant.

If you wanna dress up, wear slacks and dress shoes. You wanna dress casual, wear jeans and sneakers/boots.

Ofc a lot of clubs require dress shoes so sometimes you dont have a choice, but that's just because they want to prevent people who dont own dress shoes from hanging out in their club.

How much are you willing to spend? If you really want something nice that will last for years and still look great, you're going to probably spend anywhere from $200-$400. Also Doc Martins? Really? Jesus Christ, did you buy those in the 90's? I hope so

i don't really like tennis with jeans unless i'm just wearing some bummy t shirt or shorts.

when i wear like a half nice shiirt i prefer semi dress shoes or boots. i usually wear boots when i can get away with it tho. if i could wear boots year round i probably would but some of my slim fit jeans are tapered where i need a decent pair of semi casual/dress shoes. i'm having a hard time finding something i like that hits the sweet spot. oh and they got to be black....

Taking fashion cues from Miley seems like a perfect choice for you.

For what its worth i'd even take what miley wears as more 'in' than what you'd recommend tbh, even for a dude

i also read, not sure if its true, that Doc's are still popular in UK but i really had to get ISH opinions on it to verify

Just get some simple boots like these

http://l4.zassets.com/images/z/1/1/6/11630-p-MULTIVIEW.jpg

You can probably find cheap ones in that style or buy something with nicer material closer to $200. Either that or just get a simple sneaker like Stan Smiths or something. Not sure why anyone would wear polished leather with jeans.

I wear these with jeans about 90% of the time. Comfortable as hell.

^^^ yep I have 4-5 pairs of dress type sneakers. Comfortable, look good w/jeans, and somewhat formal...at least more formal than a pair of Nikes anyway.
