In need of some summer vacation suggestions

Hi ISHers,

Planning on going on a vaca before school starts again in August. I live in illinois, but I'm willing to make a 12 or so hour drive.

I'm wanting to go with my gf, but I've ran into a little trouble on deciding where to go. As a college student, I don't have much money, but I will be saving up throughout the summer. I have been looking into Myrtle Beach and Ocean City, but reading reviews is not very helpful. Most people only review to show their terrible time. Anyways, I'm about 75% sure on going to a beach, but I am open to other ideas. Really into some scenic views. Price wise, I'm trying to keep the trip around $750 at max. A lot of hotels I've been looking at are between $80-120 per night which I believe is reasonable. 120 is a little pricey. Probably a 4 day trip.

jersey shore is terrible. ocean city is way better. oh damn i thought you said jersey...myrtle beach is more older, retired crowd. a lot more chill and everythings cheaper, just doesn't have the night life like ocean city imo.

sleep out of your car if you're that broke, or rent a van. otherwise to really experience stuff is expensive like drinking, eating, etc. should run a few hundred to have a decent time for a weekend.
