how do you get that: Lebron calls Kevin Love a role player from this: Obviously, he brings so much to our team offensively and defensively. It's a big blow for us. and this: major role players out

yeah like it was just said, "role player" is disrespectful, and dumb... period.

It's like Kobe saying to Dwight "let me teach you how to win Championships", it won't make the guy stay at your Team, it will drive him out of town... just a dumb thing to say.

Love looks like a role player because they misuse him, the lack of touches in the post.

Major roleplayer.

Sort of like Lebron in the 2011 finals.

Major fail too.

It sounds bad, but stepping back from it, it's not as bad as OP makes it out to be.

Kevin Love is a star player, one of the supposed Big 3. He's taken a far lesser role this season but just put up 26/13/4 last season.

Being called a role player, even a "major" one, is an insult to a player of Love's caliber.

Would the Cavs be better with Aldridge or Love at the 4?

With Aldridge the defense would seemingly improve. A frontcourt of Mozgov and Aldridge is some serious size. On the other hand how would LMA affect the offense? And what about rebounding? Love brings his outlet passes/passing/and rebounding ability ..

definitely making much about nothing on the "role player" statement...he's said that in regards to Kyrie and accepting his role, as he did with himself too in it being Kyrie's team and even saying coming off the bench if that's what it takes.

keep fishing fellas!

as for Love, he has and was always an intricate part of the Cavs this season. his requirement for spacing proved heavy for Kyrie's shooting as well as Lebron's drive and kicks. Love has really just had a pretty inconsistent shooting year compared to previous ones. however has showed some resilience throughout the first 3 games in Boston.

By saying something like that, could cost Love some money. Lebron is the king of stealing his teammates' money. He turned Wade and Bosh into role players (luckily, it didn't hurt Bosh as he got paid bigtime) just so he could maintain his own stats and just did the same to Love.

Lebron forced Love to stop shooting and start playing D and fighting for rebounds. What kind of stress do you think that puts on a player's shoulders? Lebron is the real reason Love got injured.

lebron should get his PR team to talk for him.

i'm a fan of his, but with superstars, he does have a habit of limiting their opportunities and dumbing down their skillsets.

All players have roles, some small, some big, some major.... Lebron has a major role, Kyrie has a major role, Love has a major role.... those are the three guys who have the biggest roles there, in that order.... and they just so happen to be players.... major... role... players....

So i mean it just depends on how you interpret it.... i see no reason why you would interpret it any other way, didnt he until this say only the greatest things about Love in every context? What would be the reason for him to go opposite all of the sudden?

...and I think its very known Lebron has always been a good guy, who has never done or said a bad thing towards a teammate, more like the biggest opposite, nor has he ever done a BAD thing in his career (like say, rape somebody, trouble with police, gambling, family, be fined for fighting, being dirty ingame and so on and so on)....

Nor does he play an egoistic game for him to think otherwise about his teammates...

So i dont understand how some of you love to interpret everything he says/does that negatively?

I knew as soon as those words slipped out of LeBron's mouth, it was going to be a story. :oldlol:

He even tried to quickly clarify and say something to the effect of, "You know, a member of our Big Three ... "

But, apparently too little too late. It never ends.

Realistically Love is a role player. LeBron and Irving are the two best players on the team. Past that everyone is role players. It's just that Love is the most important role player out of them all. I don't see the big deal here. It is what it is.

He could have said anything else. He could have said, "a guy of his caliber", or something like that. He chose to say ONE of our ROLE PLAYERS, lol...**** the major, that don't mean shit in this context..

losing love in the off season would be a huge loss, even more so considering how good wiggins looks.

he did that for 6 years already and never sniffed the playoffs.

i could see him bailing for another team, but hes not good enough to be the best guy on a contender, and i doubt he wants to go back to being on a lottery team.

he should know that if he wants to be competing for titles, it will be as the second/third best player.

he'd put up better stats (not close to minny stats though) and never have a realistic shot at a ring.

sure, if he wants to be a career loser who put up nice stats, then that would be a good move.

if he wants to play in big games that matter, he'll stick with the cavs.

Especially when you consider that 3 seasons from now a declining Bran would have been a major role player on Wiggins' team.
