the fine is $185, $213 if i do deferred disposition.

Wondering if i should hire an attorney to take care of this for me. Will probably only spend like 50 bucks for it.

If your attorney is only $50 go for it. But $50??? The ones I see around here charge $200+ but refund your money if you lose. They do win most of the time though. I used a traffic ticket attorney twice and the case was dismissed both times. My brother has used one at least 5 times and only lost once. Best bet is to just go to traffic school if eligible, especially if they offer online courses.

lol dam. that's crazy. I actually just contacted an attorney near me and they told me they charge $40 to take care of my ticket and off the records.

i got a misdemeanor for going 21 over the speed limit on lake shore drive. the posted limit is 45 and i got caught going 67. 67 on lake shore drive is a misdemeanor, rediculous chicago is corrupt. i had to pay a lawyer 400 dollars to go to court with me, he didnt do jack shit except get them to drop any fines which i dont give a **** about, i didnt need the misdemeanor on my record.

That sucks. Whar did the judge say when you, or your attorney, asked him if he could change the misdemeanor to an infraction?

That's because driving 20+ miles over the speed limit is considered reckless endangerment. You get a major point on your driving record because of it.

but flow of traffic on lsd is 55-60. i can see 20+ on a 25 is reckless endangerment. the summer before they lowered the speed limit from 55 to 45 so that they can incur heavier fines and penalties. corruption.

i had a shitty lawyer, he settled with the prosecutor to drop the fines but i would still get a misdemeanor on my record. Didnt even try to see if the judge would down grade the violation, which should have happened, i dont have a poor driving record at all, and i was going 67 on lake shore drive where the flow of traffic is 55 -60. dumb lawyer. oh well, lesson learned. i have to be careful now, because if i get another speeding ticket i wil lhave my license taken away and possibly serve jail time. ridiculous.

That's how the police and highway patrol see it. No way around it.

Pay fine and they waive pts which is the important shit. No need to hire an attorney. Maybe you get lucky and the cop doesn't show up. I've had that happen.

Why are you guys speeding? What if a puppy was crossing while you're speeding
