Weak era..
In the early-mid 2000's, the NBA couldn't even beat Euroleague - literally - they lost to them repeatedly (7 times) on the biggest stage (world stage).
The USA's skills and brand of basketball was so far inferior at that time, that the deficit more than offset their GOAT talent advantage.
There's only one way to describe an NBA that can't beat Euroleague (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=373182): the worst era of all time.. Accordingly, everyone's stats from that era should be downgraded appropriately.

Kobe is arguably the most purely skilled player of all time. Unlike MJ, he had elite competition at SG and still managed 5 rings

So many of those players aren't even primary SG's. Shameful trolling

Are you kidding me, 3ball? You listed Hill in '97, so where are LeBron, Prince, Marion, Bell, Melo, Pierce, etc.? These guys actually defended Kobe.
It's pretty much a FACT that Kobe faced better defenders than MJ.

this.
Kobe had to face the best perimeter defender in his game in the playoffs multiple times and schooled him.
Michael Jordan had to face the best perimeter defender... in practice, because he was on the same team :facepalm

I included Tmac in 2006, who actually played SF that year - so to compensate for that, I included 1 SF from each other era too.. This is the ONLY instance I did this.
The only reason I included Tmac was because the last time I provided this list, everybody complained that Tmac wasn't on there - so I made an exception for him, and noted that in the OP.

Jordan's quickness was a big mismatch for forwards, and Rodman was no exception.. And obviously, Rodman is a much better defender than Lebron, so we can only imagine what Jordan would do to the slow-footed Lebron... We already know that Gordon Hayward and many others routinely score 30 on Lebron.
But Jordan's quickness was always a big mismatch for bigger defenders, such as Penny Hardaway (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=10692264&postcount=24), Richard Dumas (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=10692400&postcount=30), Grant Hill (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?p=10667322#post10667322), or Reggie Lewis (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=373989).. Jordan's quickness was always a mismatch for forwards.
