heading to the playoffs they were peaking at the right time like they did every postseason entrance since 2012 smashin every1.............they stomped out golden state by like 30+. No other team can do that. Kawhi is one of the best players in the league now, Duncans still good. Tony sucks but he sucked alot last year too. He got benched for Patty in crucial 4th quarters against the Mavs and OKC and they made it to the WCF without him playing the last game due to injury. Diaws still really good, Mills, Bellineli and Green (top 10 SG) are better etc......

Manu is worse and Splitter is a lil hurt but the improvements from Kawhi, Bellineli, Green and steady play from Diaw, Timmy etc has kept them at the same level.........

Tonys playin terrible and Danny too b/c of CP3s defense.......Tony had better numbers last postseason b/c he went up against the worst perimeter defense in the playoffs w/ Dallas then garbage Damian Lillards defense...........against OKC he put up 13/5/2 w/ 3 turnovers.........
Clips 9/3/3 w/ 1 turnover.......

Manu sucks yea but Kawhi, Diaw, Belli, Timmy, Mills are all better or the same

In 2014, Parker dropped 20/3/5 on 47% in the first round, 23/3/7 on 52% in the second round (10 mins last game), 14/6 on 49% in the WCF (injured last game), 18/5 on 48% in the finals.

Parker and Manu are shells at this point, while you could argue they were at the backend of their prime last year. The players were all a shit ton more motivated, and, well, a year younger... Green was perhaps the best 3/D guy in the league, one of the best role players, Diaw and Timmy were better aswell.

I'm guessing the motive here was to make LeBron's competition look weak?

I agree with everything you said (though Parker's play last postseason was still underwhelming) except for Duncan being better last year.

Personally, I think Duncan is doing just about everything better this year. His post-play this series has been phenomenal. His defense is the best it's been in about 8 years, his passing and screen-setting is still elite. Most of the numbers support this too.

Manu fell off................he was arguably the Spurs best player last season. But u cant ignore that Tony went up against dudes like Calderon, Monta, Lillard etc. last year...........CP3s a big part of why hes stunk this series and his defense on Danny has been great too

Man I hope SA wins

Tony Parker is a shadow of his former self. Ginobli doesn't scare anyone. Dwight would feast down low.

Spurs are old man. They're just old.

Parker is injured/worse, Manu is worse, Splitter is injured/worse, and green is worse.

This. They also haven't stepped up as much in important games. Lost to the Pelicans in a game that decides 2nd vs 6th seed? 2 losses at home in the 1st round?

Their ball movement is still good, but they aren't getting the stops that they got last year.

Last year they were driven by what happened in the finals the previous year. This year they just don't have the drive.

That and they never defend their rings successfully.

A year is a long time in sports, look at what happened to the Heat progressively. 2013 to 2014. Team's evolve get better and some decline, this team is no where near the level they played during last year's post season.

Everyone keeps talking about Parker but man... Manu looks slow out there. He hasn't looked fast in a while but his craftiness made up for it, this year he is just so damn slow that even Jamal freaking Crawford isn't a mismatch.

No one is as good as that team from the playoffs last year. That was just something on another level that we may not see for a while. Everything came together at one time.

I'm hoping for one big game 7 rewind to all the pieces clicking at the same time.

Spurs are prolly exhausted....3 consecutive lenghty post seasons....can take a toll

Their offense is just horrible right now. It's basically just Duncan and Leonard now. Manu is just a joke...corey joseph is better than him. Mills is better than Tony right now as well. Diaw is their only other player who is contributing on a consistent basis. Last year, it was a pretty balanced attack on offense though it still had emphasis on Duncan and Leonard. On the defensive end, those are the only 2 guys doing anything (granted they do it on an elite level). We are seeing why 2 players can't carry you anymore...not even if you're the spurs.

BTW: whoever said Manu was the best player last year, GTFO. He hasn't been good for many years.

This. They were a machine. An overused term to describe the seamless systematic way they played but last years Spurs especially in the Finals were unreal.

They weren't better this year. Tony Parker was horrible this year, as was Ginobili. Parker was a huge reason for their success last year.

Last season's Spurs seemed clearly better. Players were a year older, more injured, and that added fire from losing in the 2013 Finals wasn't there. Danny Green looks like he never came down off that Molly from Coachella and Parker looks out of it. But yeah it's difficult to conjure up that fire and it's not like Spurs have prime Duncan who can play ~42 minutes a game like he did in the early 2000's.
