It's really getting old guys. We're talking about one of the all time great basketball players here. Arguably THE all time greatest.

You wouldnt talk smack like this about a Kareem or a Bill Russell.

Lebron is no different.

Have a little class, fellas. Lebron is an elite competitor and wonderful ambassador of the game. Exceptional talent and consummate pro. He deserves to be embraced.

And plus, you know what? "2/5" is just really getting old. I mean guys, it's tired. Put it to bed already. Let it go. We dont need that on this forum.

I'm gonna just start reporting the people who keep saying it to Jeff. He'll take whatever actions he sees fit. But it's just become so stupid, so unnecessary. Let's leave it alone already and be respectful of Lebron and what he continues to achieve on the basketball court.

Not sure if serious... compared to a lot of stars in those sports he is a saint. What is the worst thing Lebron has actually done, a tv special when he moved teams?

The guy is by all accounts a gym rat, a faithful husband to his high school girlfriend, who never gets in any trouble.

I agree with OP. It's really disrespectful to the rest of the NBA when you say "2/5" because that implies the "2" portion of that is legitimate.

It's time we start living in reality and acknowledge that LeBron is actually 2*/5

Dont get trolled man, troll them back instead, because that "X of X in Finals" logic thing is so extremly easy to debunk....

If its coming from a Kobetard, they will be using the 2/5 thing & the asterisk thing.... just use their stupid logic against them, because that logic actually works mostly against them/Kobe...

2 / 5 is better than 2 / 7....

Just say 2/7 right back at them.... they will understand.... considering Kobe has carried his team to a championship as the man only 2 times and was in the Finals 7 times.... That or use any of those 100 players who have a better Finals record to place Kobe out of the top 100 all-time ranking list.... surely if they want to stick by their logic then they cant be contradictive and disagree....

Thank me later...

If we're discounting Kobe's ring where he averaged 29/7/6 during the playoffs, then we have to discount both of LeBron's rings since Kobe's '01 run was more impressive than both LeBron's '12 and '13 championship runs.

Hey now, its your logic.... which i have proved how stupid it is over and over and yet you still use it, its just amazing you are willing to cloud your basketball judgement just because of an agenda....

The thing is, while you are using this logic only against Lebron and i dont give a damn, i understand... but with this logic you are also downplaying literally any player in NBA history, the game of basketball itself, even Kobe himself..... and that i cant accept

Ask Kobe if he would rather sit at home holding his 5/7 thing intact or compete in a series for his 6th championship....

In the 2000 Finals, Kobe basically missed 2 full games. That's an *ring. Getting bailed out in game 7 of 2010 is another *

2009 is the only legit title with Kobe as 1st option.

Comparing MJ and Lebron's Approach to Beating the Spurs:

http://gifsforum.com/images_new/gif/other/grand/4288854b4ac0b5f185d1ba2a99a039bb.gif

In MJ's first meeting with Duncan on November 3, 1997, he hit the walk-off shot shown above to send the game into OT.. But it was his high volume (12-39 FG) that allowed the Bulls to stay in the game up until that point - specifically, MJ's volume spearheaded the Bulls 26-12 edge on the offensive glass.. The 2nd chances contributed to the Bulls higher offensive rating for the game (85.4 to 81.5).. With MJ's volume keeping the Bulls in the game, the opportunity was there at the end to force overtime and steal the game.

MJ's volume also took defensive attention away from teammates, allowing Kerr, Kukoc, and Longley to have big games.. Sufficient contributions from the supporting cast was necessary since Scottie was out this game.

MJ's high-volume approach was a stark contrast to how Lebron attacks a defense.. Lebron employs a lower-volume approach, which necessitates bigger performances from teammates to keep up with the other team.. But this passive approach doesn't attract sufficient defensive attention away from teammates for these big performances to even be possible - see the 2014 Finals.

The 2014 Finals showed how a passive, low-volume approach allows a defense to stay at home on teammates and shut them down.. And historically, the stats have proven how unlikely the approach has of succeeding to begin with: In 21 out of the 25 years since 1991, the team leader in shot attempts on the Finals-winning team took more than 25.56% of the team's shots - so the load Lebron undertook in the 2014 Finals (25.56% of his team's shots) was not a large load, and the notion that he couldn't have done more, or that no one else would've done more, is simply wrong - 21 out of the last 25 did more.. And intuitively, it's pretty dumb to take 17 shots per game on a top-heavy team and expect to keep up with the opponent's offense.
