View Full Version : Two finals MVPs out of 7 attempts.
2/7

The best way to measure a players impact is to measure how often they can lead their team to the playoffs, to the finals AND ultimately to championships. Being the second best player on your team is very respectable, especially if your team wins it all.
Reading the 2/5 thread inspired me make this thread. Is 2 for 7 really that impressive? Please convince me that is more impressive than 2/5. Otherwise I have no choice but to think that the player with the 40% ratio is superior to the one with a 29% finals mvp ratio.

Its just as embarrassing that he only has 2 when his team has won 5 times, and one of them included a 6/24 shooting performance in a game 7 :wtf:

I don't want this to devolve into a troll thread tbh. I do feel that your post is relevant though because leading your team to victory with an MVP-type performance in game 7 of the finals? Irrefutable proof of greatness.

No wing player in NBA history would win finals MVP playing next to '00-02 Shaq.

How do you know that? The only thing we know is that kobe couldn't do it. Thus 2/7.

Another irrefutable measure of greatness? Signature playoff performances. Taking over a game and willing your team to victory.

I would sit out too if im about to miss the playoffs the instant my big man leaves. He played 66 games that regular season, and that is without knowing how many games he took off when they were eliminated from the playoff race. Are you telling me if you had 66 games of Lebron, Hakeen, Duncan, Shaq, etc (these are the peers we grade kobe against) that they wouldnt even make the first round?

Kobe's never had a Game meeting that criteria?

They were still in the Playoff race when he got hurt and then they fell off(not 100% sure).
Not sure. Kobe's team I believe was in the Playoffs and he got hurt after playing 60 Games or so and then they fell out of the race. Duncan's/Shaq's teams IMO would make the Playoffs. Lebron & Hakeem I doubt would make it.

Rent free is one of the most idiotic terms that basically only retarded hicks and kobe stans use

Not really. I made this thread because of the 2/5 thread and the responses in it:

It's funny how on ISH Kobe was always considered this extremely clutch player with unparalleled killer instinct who performs the best under pressure and on the other hand Lebron was considered a choker with soft mentality who cracks under pressure.
And considering all this:
Lebron playoffs game winners >>>>>Kobe playoffs gamewinners
Lebron's elimination games (challenging the GOAT himself in that regard) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kobe's elimination games
Lebron facing the most pressure ever(arguably in sports history) in game 6 Boston and he plays his heart out and closes the game in 3 quarters, meanwhile Kobe facing the most pressure in game 7 Boston to finally prove to everyone his killer instinct and his ''best playing under pressure persona'' and he shits the bed with 6-24 shooting.
ISH never dissapoints, it reminds me of communnism in a way when certain agenda was pushed down everyones throat even though reality and truth was completely different.

In a vacuum and amongst logical fans, 7 finals runs should always be more impressive than 5 final runs, but heres the caveat: IF they sustain high levels of play.
Making the finals and losing while maintaining a high level of play is only a bad thing to dumbasses.
For example, 2011 obviously hurts his legacy a bit, but 2014, if anything, helps his rankings. 2007 is pretty impressive also

ISH is hilarious.
Basically one retard (kenneth) says some dumb shit about Bran, the entire Bran family lashes out on Kobe.
Who's the best SF in the game right now, KD or Bran? Bran family somehow brings Kobe into the mix.
MJ > Bran? Bran > Chuckbe the Rapist.
It's unbelievable that one player could garner so much hate from so many people. It's even sadder to think that a handful of these Bran stans are actually only one or two dudes.

Isn't it hilarious that your considered the best player in the game and the guy you are guarding and whom is guarding you wins the Finals MVP I'm dominating fashion??
I mean doesn't that say something about the inconsistency of greatness you put forth? Either you're playing like a b*tch or in video game mode. Who knows.

Yeah...let's disparage Kobe any way we can.
After all, there have been many players who had more than two FMVPs, and ton that "only" had two.

Young Kobe wasn't better than prime Shaq.

Neither was anybody else.
It's not like he was losing to Finals MVPs to lower tier players like Tony Parker, James Worthy, Kawhi Leonard and Cedric Maxwell.

Yeah Jerry West sucks. He was what 1/10?
Dude got to the Finals TEN times but only won one?
Why is he the Logo again? I know he was an incredibly talented player who managed to lead his team to the Finals over and over but he couldn't beat some guy named Russell?
Sarcasm should be evident enough.

Or maybe some of the other 40+ games Kobe has had against real teams in the WC.
Surely better than signature games against old teams that has Chris Webber and Rajon Rondo as their best player.

No one seriously argues that Kobe is better than Lebron. We know Lebron is better.
4MVPs already to Kobe's 1 that he barely got over Chris Paul.

The real question is "why were the Heat down 3-2 versus the geriatric Celtics?"
LeBron has to scratch and claw to escape the punchline that is the EC. :lol
