Well, if the pro-slavery, KKK creating, segregationist party elected President Obama. I'd imagine the party that demanded freedom for blacks are at least as likely.

Enough with the lawyers. A doctor would be a perfect change of pace. Lawyers learn how to argue. Doctors learn how to fix problems.

In a 1996 interview, he said that he found the "concept of for profits for the insurance companies" absurd. He continued, "The first thing we need to do is get rid of for-profit insurance companies. We have a lack of policies and we need to make the government responsible for catastrophic health care".

And he apparently became a repub in 2014. Wonder who he voted for in 2008 and 2012. :oldlol:

Interesting character. I don't like non lawyers in politics though. You got to know how to play the game to be any good at it. Maybe I just have a bad taste from all the ridiculous nonsense that Ron Paul spewed out. Is this guy realistic or does he believe in wild fantasies about the American political process?

arguing is like .2% of what lawyers actually do.

Carson's views on evolution and creationism have also been controversial.[59] In a 2006 debate with Richard Dawkins, Francis Collins, and Daniel Dennett, Carson stated: "I don't believe in evolution...I simply don't have enough faith to believe that something as complex as our ability to rationalize, think, and plan, and have a moral sense of what's right and wrong, just appeared."[60] In 2012 nearly 500 professors, students, and alumni of Emory University wrote a letter expressing concern about his views in advance of his commencement speech (there was no request to rescind the invitation). They cited a quote in an interview with the Adventist Review: "By believing we are the product of random acts, we eliminate morality and the basis of ethical behavior". Carson clarified that "People who believe in survival of the fittest might have more difficulty deriving where their ethics come from. A lot of evolutionists are very ethical people.

Most presidential candidates have no faith in their own chances at winning the office. They are running to increase their profile in their party so that they can make more money as pundits, TV and radio shows, and also just because they like the attention. The Republicans once made the colossal blunder of putting one such not-serious politician into the position of nominee for VP but that may have come down to one man's poor decision. The overall party isn't going to nominate this kind of candidate for the presidency. Does anyone think this guy gets more support than Jeb Bush?

A few dumb cynics might think that running a black candidate gives the Republicans the black vote but when you're facing over-90% opposition from a demographic it's about more than just race.

it would be kind of funny if the election came down to carson vs clinton.

many heads would explode in the southern and midwestern states as old white republicans tried to decide between a woman and a black guy :oldlol:
