Not a choke, he just doesn't have the ability to get to the rim at will anymore, and the league is catching on. There's a reason why his shooting percentage within 3 feet of the rim has been at its lowest in almost 10 years. Anyone else notice that the Bulls aren't sagging off him at the perimeter, giving him 5-6+ feet of real estate to hoist a jump shot? Right, because a slashing LeBron can't make you pay like he used to.

To be fair, the loss of spacing because of Love is damaging Cavs a lot, as expected.
Without spacing and with the slashing abilities of Lebron declining because of age/mileage, he will have a hard hard time this series. The lack of post-up/mid range doesn

missed the game since I was at the gym. His FT attempts is very low...WTF did he do...Shoot jumpers all game? Like I said before the Cavs won't win nothing with Lebron thinking he's a jump shooter and having the ball in his hand all the time. He turns the ball over to damn much.

crazy to think about the differences in spacing that LeBron saw compared to what Jordan saw.
LeBron getting exposed without that stretch 4.

Exactly, now that he doesn't have the most stacked team in the league BY FAR for once, he's struggling again when it matters (like his last stint in Cleveland).
I mean is the 2nd round in the East even when it matters?
Normally this shit is just another vacation round, but like you said, LeBron needs that uber stacked team to carry his ass to the promise land, and right now with JR and Love out his team has only been relegated to the normal level of stacked.

Well, he won't have to deal with it this year, but I figured out why Lebron can't dominate Kawhi:
Lebron is quick for a forward, but not for a guard - that's why he isn't a mismatch for frontcourt players like Kawhi Leonard or Boris Diaw the way quick guards like Westbrook, Monta Ellis or MJ would be.
Regarding MJ, Magic Johnson says it best at the 4:21 and 5:26 marks after MJ scores on Phoenix's bouncy SF (Richard Dumas) twice in a row in the 1993 Finals:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLLfcJhJ9wc&t=4m21s
"I'm sorry but... no way can you put a man that is not used to guarding Michael Jordan - or guarding guards - on Michael Jordan.."
In general, it always looks weird putting taller defenders on ultra-quick players - it feels like embarrassment is impending.. That's why even though Dennis Rodman won back-to-back DPOY as a SF (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=374199) in 1990 and 1991, Chuck Daly could only put Rodman on MJ in spurts.. The quicknes mismatch was just too obvious - MJ made it look like a coaching blunder (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=359858) when Rodman was left on him for too long.. Also, having a frontcourt player defend a guard like MJ messes up the defensive matchups for everyone else on the team - now the other team must figure out how to defend Scottie with a much shorter SG.
I guess that's why Lebron can't make mincemeat out of Kawhi the way MJ did Rodman: Lebron's simply a slower SF - therefore, he's not really a mismatch for frontcourt players the way players with true-guard quickness are (i.e. MJ, Westbrook, or Monta Ellis).

Agreed that LeBron's first step doesn't stack up to Jordan's but it's also not fair at all to compare LeBron's game to Jordan because of how much more skilled Jordan was. Watching Jordan dominate elite defenders was a thing of beauty. Can't really say the same for LeBron. His efficency whoring game is very predictable. he lacks the skills, footwork, jumper, confidence, mentality needed to take it to guys like Kawhi. And I mean, the turnovers.... did MJ ever come close to a turnover output like we've seen from LeBron in a number of different years?
In the most crucial play of this game, while trying to come back with under 2 minutes left, LeBron awkwardly found himself in a mid range situation, rose up to take a shot, lacked the confidence to pull the trigger, turned to pass the ball off but just threw it away to Butler for an easy transition look on the other end...
Gotta take care of that basketball.
