Is it because he has suspect handles? Is it because he tries to pass to much instead of forcing a terrible shot?

Because he scores and passes so much.

These are the top 5 players alltime in playoff turnovers:

1. Magic
2. Shaq
3. Kobe
4. Duncan
5. Pippen

Not because they are bad ballhandlers, but because they had the ball a lot, and they are all among the top alltime in minutes played.

Lack of familiarity/chemistry with new teammates and the fact that Cleveland has no system in place, leading to excessive dribbling and decision making. His previous high in turnovers per game was in 2011, when he had the same issue. This won't be a problem next season.

His handles have regressed, but pretty much none of his turnovers are a result of ball handling. They are always due to carelessness passing the ball.

this. it's also been this way all year, was it supposed to drastically with the increased defensive attention applied during the playoffs? :confusedshrug:

as for the TO being lesser next year...we can hope

Except he's done this pretty much his whole career; it's always been the most irritating thing about his game.

This. A lot of times he takes the ball with like 15 seconds in triple threat, spends 5 seconds just staring down his opponent, then jabs a couple times, and passes it to a teammate with 5 seconds left.

Its frustrating to watch as a lestan. What the *** happened to his post game?

I'm assuming these are totals? Those guys have logged a shit load of minutes in the playoffs, so naturally they're gonna be at the top of any list. Magic played 11 seasons, he was in the finals in 9 of them.

What are their assist to turnover ratios?

Not skilled as a ball handler/protector. Just uses his size and strength and natural physical gift like he does every pat of his game

The NBA's new player-tracking data shows that 38% of Lebron's points are scored by holding the ball for longer than 6 seconds, which is 8th in the league.

This is a POINT GUARD stat - Lebron and Harden are the only non-point guards in the top 50:

http://stats.nba.com/league/player/shots/#!/?sectionName=Touch%20Time%20Range&section=TouchTimeRange&range=Touch%206%2B%20Seconds&sort=FGA_FREQUENCY&dir=1&Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

While Lebron's turnovers are high for a frontcourt player, they're only slightly above-average for a point guard, which is what Lebron is...

The problem is that Lebron's ASSISTS are only average for a point guard.. Infact, MJ played off-ball, yet he averaged more assists in the playoffs and Finals thru age 30.. MJ also proved he was the better passer as a ball-dominator, when he averaged 30/9/11 (http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jordami01/gamelog/1989/#322-345-sum:pgl_basic) in 24 games at point guard, including 10 triple-doubles in 11 games (http://www.complex.com/sports/2014/01/michael-jordan-point-guard-in-1989-posted-triple-double-10-of-11-games) - this is the best anyone outside of Oscar Robertson has ever done at PG.

Jordan's USG% average throughout 13 playoffs --> 35.6

Average TOV% 9.4

His highest TOV% was 12.7 (twice), almost the same as LeBron's average TOV% (12.6)

Wow

Because his handles are only good for someone his size, not for someone who has the ball in his hands most of the time. And if he wasn't allowed to push off his defender with his off arm, he would rarely create enough space to do anything with the ball.

He's the most predictable facilitator in the league. And is just an overrated passer period, he isn't even above average. I remember when people said he was one of the best passers in the league....:yaohappy:

He's a terrible passer. His assists are greatly inflated by being the last guy to have the ball before his teammates are forced to jack up a contested jumper

They call it colluding-itist. Causes your hands to get slippery and leg cramps in the playoffs.
