So Pau Gasol torches the Cavs with outside jumpshots. Yet Gasol Stans wan't to make excuses for why he sucked his last years on the Lakers ("B-b-b-b-but D'Antoni had Pau taking OUTSIDE jumpshots!")

He wasn't bad under d'antoni because he had to shoot J's, it was the pace that D'Antoni wanted to play at which did Gasol no favors.

Gasol is good at 16 footers, not 22 footers. D'Antoni had him in the corners for short 3's, not running pick-and pop action which kills disorganized defenses for easy looks all over the floor.

The end.

gasol was just doing what any good shooter SHOULD do in that situation

any ymca baller could hit those set shots 15-18 feet from the net

it was more due to the bulls penetration and ability to draw multiple defenders that was the key.

if the cavs could actually man up 1 on 1 then gasol wouldnt be wide open all the time

Gasol is a fantastic player to this very day

And all those shots were WIDE open, yo. Poor defensive coverage from a LeBron lead defense.

Your right. I should rename them

They're not Gasol Stans. More like Gasol White-Knights. (aka covert Kobe haters that want to overrate Gasol like he was a Top 10 All Timer and continually come to his recuse making excuses for his failings. All in an effort to diminish Kobe's greatness, of course...) :pimp:

You've seen a relative low number of those shots and they've stuck in your mind. In 2012-2013 Pau shots 8-28 on 3pointers, in 2013-2014 he was 4-14. You can use his first season in Chicago for comparison, he was 12-26 on the year.

The right answer is what another poster has already mentioned, it was the pace that didn't suit him.

It isn't news that Pau was wrongfully the scape goat. Everybody outside of Kobe stans and 'some' Laker fans new he was getting a raw deal throughout his entire tenure as a Laker.

Which makes sense. Giving him a touch at 15-ish feet allows him to drive, pass, or shoot. He had some really nice plays from that range. I remember him pass faking twice, stepping thru and hitting a J.

I think Gasol could shoot 3s, but I don't think he wants to be a floor spacer as much as he wants to be an option. If it was just give Gasol the ball and shoot over and over again, he might have more issues, but since he can make plays (as he is a playmaker) it's good.

I like how he's balling.

So now the excuse is "PACE"?!

Did the pace/style of offense suit a 35 year old Kobe Bryant in his 17th season (who's basically institutionalized by the triangle offense)? :confusedshrug:

That certainly didn't stop him from having one of his GOAT regular seasons, and one of the GOAT seasons by a player in his 17th year...

Keep making excuses, Gasol White-Knights... :facepalm

Even if he didn't step behind the line, he was camping the corners. In addition to the pace, not using him as a playmaker at the top of the key ruined his usefulness.

Any reason for the incessant whining? Like literally every post you make sounds like you're on the rag.

Take it easy and relax. You and Kobe are gonna be OK.

well he was wide open the entire time, you're not going to win series relying on Pau getting wide open mid range jumpers for the entire series.

just because he was getting those looks last night doesn't mean he was getting those looks for the entire last 2 regular seasons

For real.

It's like a 16-year-old girl.

>one of the GOAT regular seasons

Nope

And Gasol is a half-court player. He's a good shooter, an elite playmaker for his position, and a great post player. He's not useful in transition.

That's always been apart of Pau's game, where you been?

Where Dumbtoni ****ed up is he took Pau outta the pick and pop area of the court, wanted him to shoot threes consistently on a night-to-night basis and completely took away his playmaking and post game off the table. His two biggest strengths.

Blatt wants them switching constantly, and it burned them last night.
