Nets draft pick info

The Nets have no control of their own first-round draft picks between now and 2019

They will always have the money to buy some draft picks. Nothing but late 1sts or 2nd rounders though.

Let's hope the nets scouting team gets us a steal this year though. We need someone badly. 29th pick this year

do teams really sell late 1st rounders these days? that seems like a pretty unlikely thing ordinarily, but whadda i know?

if i was king / razumov, i would get some top specialists in player development on the team. that, or convince the younger guys to attend special training camps like kevin love and others did.

the crazy thing is that most of the guys in even the second round could become rotation / starter players if they really applied themselves. if only there was a way to light a fire under them... to get them close to that steve nash level of dedication.

I know we dont have a pick in 2016, how about 2017? Well anyway, Deron f*cked us over for the next 5 years so its not like it really matters anyway.

Deron? Or trading 4 straight years of first round picks for three players that no longer play for you.

Well I was talking about the fact that Deron forced us to buy out his contract, and to get paid for the next 5 years. The paychecks will still count as team salary, which means our salary cap is effectively $5-6m less than the other teams.

Anyway the Nets wouldnt have envisioned that this team would start to suck as early as 2016 season. If everything worked out, we would miss playoffs only after 2018 season, which means that you aint getting any high draft picks from us anyway. Its unfortunate how things worked out though, Billy King needs to go.
