This aired last night at the game during a timeout.

I'm appalled. Classless organization. No wonder LeBron fits right in.

The Cavs marketing team is having a rough week. First, the ill-advised 20,000 arm slings that they were ready to hand-out in solidarity with Kevin Love (wtf) to this video, which was just a bad idea. I see what they were going for... they were going to perform the lift from Dirty Dancing. But, most people aren't even going to get that reference and it comes off... just not very well.

Someone is getting fired today.

Wow...that video...there are no words.

Is that seriously an officially released video? It looks like a terrible amateur spoof you'd find in the netherrealms of Youtube.

And why did I see the Hawks and Grizzlies games at different points in the video? You can clearly see the interview with a post-surgery Mike Conley.

So then yes, it was officially released by the Cavs. How has this not gone viral yet?I think it has a quarter of a million views. I also think it was supposed to be a spoof of a United Healthcare commercial of a similar vein.

Either way, they did a poor job and it likely was not a great decision by the marketing team there. Not sure it should be a super huge deal though. Just something done poorly by people who didn't do their job well and perhaps miscalculated whether slapstick humor could accommodate for spousal abuse undertones.

Think about how many people were involved in the production and making of this video. Then think about how not a single one of them realized how it was a bad idea. And then think about how once the video was finished, there were people with the final say who signed off on it.

Wow it's pretty badly acted too. Thing is they could have achieved the same effect without lacing it with the 'domestic abuse' undertones. Just have him not catch her (rather than throwing her) and clearly show her falling onto the couch instead of making it look like she's bounced off it and bruised her hip. And the scene with her then in the Cavs shirt looking rather down just needs to be cut full stop

There are a lot of 30 and under fans at NBA games. It is one thing to be kinda sorta familiar with Dirty Dancing as a cheesy 80s movie that, for some reason, was super popular. This lame spoof actually requires an understanding of the plot and the climactic scene. I don't know... it just seemed like a parody from 1989, not 2015.

Obviously it was poorly done and stupid. The fake outrage, to me, is far more annoying. No one was trying to promote domestic violence with that video. It was just dumb.

Strictly from a production value the video was straight up awful.

The "controversial" part was not remotely controversial. I don't see why it would be a bad idea to show it if it has nothing that would actually offend regular fans and viewers. Of course the media will pretend to be offended on camera and in print, that's what they do. It's their job to attract viewers by declaring this or that as wrong or an 'injustice.'

But I'm sure no actual fans in attendance cared. Good on the team for not letting the media-driven sensitivity mob push them around.

Haven't experienced any domestic violence for 10+ years, so am better able to see the funny side (even though this video is corny and isn't very funny).

I can see how it's more of an issue if you're dealing with it or paranoid about it. Political correctness? Feminism? Something weird is going on.

It's like racism jokes. When racism isn't even on your mind, you can easily laugh. A scientist can be talking about evolution and monkeys and a black person will say.. "did he just call me a monkey?????" We are all monkeys, or evolved from there. Go even further back and we evolved from the ocean, from amphibeans. Did he just call me a fish? Someone with fish lips would probably get offended by that.

When your paranoid and actually racist (or spend time around racist people).. you get offended by the smallest things. Pushes some sort of button or reminds you of some bad memory or something.

Judging by this video, I would say that it's clear that domestic violence is an issue in USA. There's a vibe where it's like.. "it's really bad.. don't encourage it more!!".

Weird video. Even weirder responses. Something weird going on. If more people had common sense and weren't so crazy, we wouldn't have to get overly sensitive about every little thing. If someone watches a movie with people shooting guns and killing people and then goes out and shoots someone, it wasn't the movie. That person had problems long before they ever watched the movie.

Everyone else shouldn't be punished because one person might watch the movie and then think it's ok to shoot people. Or in this case, to be rough with your girlfriend.

Haha saw that shite. It's funny because it would have worked imo if he just tossed her, but the extra injury scene and, worse, the fact that she was "all in now" is what made it possibly offensive. That leads people to believe his abusive actions drove her to relinquish her bulls fandom.

That's where they ****ed up. If he just tossed her, they could have brought it up, but I doubt it would take hold.

Exactly

There are so many responses from people who seem somehow offended (in these forums and on TV). Sure, it's a stupid video, but... at least half of you guys use derogatory statements/pictures & profanity on a daily basis in this forum. Look at the stuff you guys say to each other.. I've seen people say things like "go kill yourself" to others on here and yet there's outrage from an incredibly cheesy video? LOL That video is rated PG

Media guys are tryin' to look good by saying "look at me, I'm supporting women, yeah!" and people bought it :facepalm
