Wizard MJ was better, but Paul Pierce knows his role and doesnt try to over do it like Jordan did.

He over did it alright. Instead of just blocking a shot, he made the guy want to end his own life after being shitted on so badly.

Current Wizards squad looks like their championship 70s team compared to the '02 and '03 team. 2002-2003 MJ was still significantly better than current Pierce, even if he did try to do too much. At Pierce's current age or almost current age(38), MJ was still dropping 50. Those days have been long gone for Pierce.

The guy that won Playoff games

MJ's stint in Washington is forgettable and he never even made the Playoffs.

Pierce out there leading a team missing it's best player to the Conference Finals over a 60-win team.

Better player? Yeah MJ could produce more, but he tried to do too much. Pierce has been better for Washington.

Perhap wizard MJ did do too much but that is due to the 02-03 wizard is much inferior than the current wizard.

With Wall injured, this team is not that much better to be honest.

Like I said, MJ is obviously the better player, but Pierce's stint in Washington will be memorable to everyone, especially after that game-winner.

It's a good question. Wizards MJ was still crazy athletic. Wizards Pierce is rad though.

Wizards MJ would probably 3 peat with this current squad, he'd atleast go to 3 straight finals, definitely winning 1.

Bradley Beal
Michael Jordan / Otto Porter

Can't be compared due to team talent, but MJ was better. Pierce does know his role as you said. But MJ was just being MJ. He knew they couldn't win. If the Wiz were a playoff team, then we could compare.

Not saying they weren't capable because didn't they almost make it and MJ got injured, but I mean you gotta see him in the playoffs.

Plus **** the BS MJ gets calls PP would never get.

Wizards Pierce knows his role...

If this Wizards team had Wizards MJ, and MJ decided to play 28mpg of team ball, the Wiz would be the best squad in the east IMO.

MJ scores in isolations on Pierce at 3:05, 5:08, 6:31, 6:45, and 7:20 - they guarded each other the entire 4th - MJ had 10 pts and completely shut Pierce down.

Wizards won 19 more games with MJ in 2002 (18 to 37).. Exact same roster - MJ was the only difference.

And that was with MJ missing the last 22 games of the season. Had they even split those games with him playing you're talking a minimum 48 wins. In the East that year that's at worse the 4th playoff seed.

What Wizards MJ was able to do at his age is pretty incredible.

Can't hold not making the playoffs against him, because that Wizards team was pretty awful, and there was actually competition in the East back then.

While there's quite a bit of exaggeration in this post, putting Wizards MJ on this current squad and making a couple of ECF and maybe even a Finals isn't too far out of question given the current state of the East. That, and the Wizards have made at least the ECSF the last two years. They wouldn't have gotten past the Heat last year, but given the Cavs current state, and if the Wizads were healthy and had John Wall, saying the Wizards version of Jordan could lead the Wizards to the Finals this year isn't a stretch. They'd probably get beat pretty convincingly by whoever made it out of the West, though.
