Every other year Lebron forgets how to shoot. This was to be expected.

playoff bran :confusedshrug:
his first finals win he hit maybe 3-4 shots outside of the paint. rest of his points were layups/dunks/ft's
his first finals series he shot garbage as well

Modern players just evolve too fast.
The players are too strong, too fast, too athletic for Bron. The defense is also far more advanced than the schemes he saw back in '03-'10 during his first Cavs stint.
Dat Evolution.

nothing new...he sucks at shooting jumpers and it pisses me off every game when I see him settling for them.

he took very few shots outside the paint in 2012. That was deliberate. there were even articles about it on grantland.
why would you criticize him when he worked all summer to be a beast in the paint?

no, I mean like he shot sub 20% in the finals on jumpers that year too. not just that he chose to shoot less. he was attacking the rim at will because he was getting the call basically every single time. you'd see officials deliberately wait to see if he missed his layup just to give him the call. he'd get all the 50/50 calls. it was just too easy that year.
in the past though, like 2007 vs the spurs or 2011 vs the mavs when he's not getting the 2012 level of officiating bias, his lack of confidence in his jumper on the big stage ****s him over and gets him exposed

he was getting the calls because he should have gotten the calls. keep crying russwest. He worked on his post game after choking in 2011 because of not having a good post game.
He owned anyone thunder threw at him. the best finisher of all time at the rim should get calls in his favor.

Lebron is obviously one of the best players ever, but damn...that jumper gets so inconsistent at times and if he didn't play his career in the East...his playoff success could look drastically different.
Lebron stans don't like to hear it, but it's the truth. And even with that...he's arguably the greatest and most clutch shot in NBA history away from only having 1 title despite playing on contending teams in a bad conference for virtually his entire peak.
It's a serious flaw in his game and it shows up a lot in the playoffs when the games get tougher.

parker hit a lucky shot to win game 1. you can't have it both ways. Ray allen's shot was pure skill, parker's shot was lucky.
Ray allen was a 3 pt specialist who was not doing well throughout most of the playoffs. He earned his paycheck in the finals. It is not like Allen's shot hit the rim 2-3 times and then went in.
also, if he didn't play in the east, chances would be that he would have had way better teams than he did in first 7 years of his career. His stats would of course be better easily given that east has been better defensively for every season other than the current one.
What if lebron landed on the nuggets instead of the cavs? Those nuggets teams would have won 1 title at least. if dirk can win a title in the west then so can lebron given that he is easily the better player.

What do you dispute?
You think he'd have the same success playing in the West?
You think his shot hasn't caused serious problems for him in the playoffs?

Meh...he'd have to go through harder competition and plenty of players don't get great teams their first few years.
Not like Lebron was ready to win a title pre 08 anyway. His shot was too broke to beat a team like the Spurs or other elite team in 07 anyway. Only difference if Lebron was in the West in 07 is that he'd lose in round 2 instead of making the finals.

you just did given that you just said that if allen didn't hit his shot then lebron would have lost. going by that logic, no one other than lebron should score.
LeBron was about 80% the reason heat won game 6. Wade in 2013 was as good as his mid range jumper. His jumper was off in game 6 which lead to clogged lanes as he wasn't a finishing at the rim.
Go and look at the play by play. LeBron went beat mode on both ends in 4th quarter unlike dirk who has always been just an offensive weapon and heat went from 10 down to 5 ahead until wade came back in.
Allen's shot didn't even tie the game at the buzzer. it tied the game with 5 secs left. Lebron shut down parker on his last attempt in regulation which got the game to OT.

No I didn't. I never once said Allen was lucky to make that shot.
I said if not for that shot...Lebron would not have won that series. I totally agree Lebron deserves credit for bringing them back, but that shot is the definition of getting what you need to win from your teammates. Too many great players have played as well as Lebron did in that series up to that point and lost.
The fact that you can't acknowledge that is absurd. Lebron himself said the Heat were "lucky" to win that series. LOL

Dirk got great teams throughout his career. LeBron with an owner like cuban and coach like Carlisle would have won at least 2 by now.
You can't have it both ways. You bitch about east not having strong teams but when i say that probability of lebron having a really good team around him in the west would be pretty high, you disagree. Other than KG, i can't think of any other superstar having weak teams in the west.
You should at least agree that outside of Spurs and grizzlies, no one in the west played grind out defense like most east teams do. This would also lead to better stats.

Dude. Lebron has already had good to great teams around him though. What are you on?
Lebron has had better teams than Dirk ever had for starters.
But Lebron is better than Dirk so I do think Lebron would have won a couple of titles by now. Maybe...it depends.
But Lebron had legit teams from 09 through 15 now. To bitch about Lebron's help like it hasn't been great to elite for like 7 years now is absurd.
And even with marginally better teams I'm not sure it's enough to move the needle given the fact that the West is so much better.
You realize that Lebron had top level help while playing in a shitty conference...right? He had the best of both worlds. Very unlikely he would have much better in the West year to year than he had in the East from 09 to present.
And honestly I don't see him having the help to beat the Lakers or Celtics in 08 if he played in the West. He certainly wouldn't have had it on the Mavs.
And Lebron wasn't good enough to lead a team to a title pre 08 anyway. His shot was too broke to do that.
So you are talking about beating some damn good West teams from 09 through 15. Would he win a couple? Probably if he has the teams, but it's not a lock...and he sure as hell isn't making 4 straight finals. Wouldn't have made the finals in 11 or 14.
That is what you are missing.
