View Full Version : Lebron 25.1 FGA this series = MJ's career playoff average

After 12 years of averaging a super-beta 18.9 FGA in the playoffs, Lebron is FINALLY getting a small taste of what MJ's standard offensive load was like.

As usual, Lebron is significantly underperforming Jordan's standard - Lebron is only shooting 37.7% on his 25 FGA, compared to MJ's career average of 48.7%.

Most importantly, the 37% is affecting his team - Lebron is in a dog fight with a mediocre team, while Jordan NEVER was - MJ always disposed of mediocre teams in the playoffs... Always..

Also, just imagine how insane Jordan's FG% would be if he only had to take Lebron's career average of 18.9 shots per game - he'd shoot 58.7% instead of 48.7%, but he wouldn't have won even 1 championship.. :confusedshrug:

Jordan with his 2nd best player hobbled and 3rd best player out for the season would probably mean 1-9 type shit

these two team defense are on another level, they are letting all sort of contact go, no way lebron should only be averaging 5 fts a game

Lebron averages 18.9 shots per game for his career, compared to MJ's 25.1 - that proves MJ carried the MUCH heavier load - it's not close..

and he carried it much better - 49% FG to 38%.

Lebron only averages 18.9 FGA for his playoff career, compared to 25.1 for MJ.

That proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jordan carried a MUCH heavier load..

If MJ had taken only 18.9 shots instead of 25.1, he would never have made the Finals even 1 time, let alone win..

Lebron has simply had much better supporting casts and plays in a softer era - that's the only reason Lebron gets to win rings while undertaking a far smaller load.

LeBron is the best player of his generation and one of the four best players in almost 20 years, and all you can do is shit on him. He will never be as good as MJ, we know, but stfu and appreciate his ability.

MJ needed to average 25.1 shot attempts in playoffs to win, while Lebron only needs 18.9 = MJ's era is tougher and he carried the far bigger load

3ball if you needed any more proof that you are an annoying troll, read this post I am quoting. Here you have a Bulls fan who clearly thinks MJ is the GOAT (like most of us do) and even he is trolling you with the "1-9" shit.

How could ANYONE think MJ's not better?

It had nothing to do with load for Jordan, it has to do with a bit different mindsets/games/decision making offensively... Jordan was more of a score/shoot first/shot hoisting player, probably the most notable at that in NBA history (per possession & minute), he would take that many shots with any team/situation/whatever, its who he is, its what he wants... Lebron is more closer to the opposite off., more of the unselfish kind (dont take it the wrong way, but he indeed is a bit more unselfish than MJ was, means nothing else), while he is a great scorer and has the ability to score & hoist shots as prolifically as anybody ever his natural instincts off. is more closer to that of a PG.... its only this playoffs, especially this series he is forced to hoist/force shots at this magnitude, while still doing his other job (being the point-guard), THAT has to do with necessity based on the injuries to Love/Kyrie... as little sidekicks he ever had before to help him offensively there is really nobody right now.....

Kyrie is running with one leg, he really cant help much with that off. load (as Pippen could) as you can see... and so that leaves either Delavedova, Smith, Mozgov, Tristan, Shump... or Jones... or eh... Perkins... as the only other options to help Lebron take that Sidekick/Love/Kyrie offensive role of creating/taking up to ~15-20 shots and orchestrating the offense themselves..... Which is not a good idea, so Lebron is forced to do it, which atm is literally EVERYTHING offensively.... whatever it takes to try and win...
