gotta hand it to em, still takes too many jumpers but he finally got on those PEDs:applause: :applause:
Yes he is. He seems to have gotten over his fear of LeBron too. Or maybe LeBron just can't guard him anymore.

He is playing pretty well. I wouldn't say great because a lot of his shots still look pretty bad. But, he has some of his explosion back, it seems. The one layup he made today where he went under Mozgov's (I think) armpit was just crazy.
I think another thing that is sort of helping him is how hobbled Kyrie is. Because he is basically playing on one leg, Rose isn't having to work on the defensive end. He is able to basically use all of his energy on trying to score/playmake.
But, yeah... he looks pretty good.

The one positive we can take should we contrive to choke this series away. He has probably been the best player in the series so far. Aggressive and hitting his shots. Hopefully he can build on it and have an injury free MVP type season next year.

agreed.

I respect what he has been doing in this series so far. Team would be lost without him
RBA any idea what's wrong with LeBrons shot? So flat. I know you've watched him more than me this year so I'm curious if you know. His shot was great last year.

Thought he was great tonight. Set up guys and scored very well all night for the most part.
Dunleavy, Noah, and Mirotic really wet the bed tonight.

This.
Noah kind of plays like this on the regular lately. I don't know why Thibes just didn't play him the last 10 games of the year. The lower seeding wouldn't have meant much unless the seeding went all the way down to 7 because no way could they have beaten Miami in the first round.

Taj also missed a few bunnies close to the rim (to be fair, he's done a good job keeping TT away from ORbs. DRose and JBuckets were solid, Snell played well in limited minutes, Brooks made a couple of plays too. But yeah, Niko, Jo and MDJ were useless and the biggest reasons we lost.

Seriously, he has been the best player in the series. And he seems to be building momentum off that game winner. Deserved, probably after second guessing himself due to all the injuries and negativity the past 2.5 years.
Let's not sleep on his defense either. Even if Kyrie isn't feeling great, Derrick always defends him better than anyone else. He gets up for big time players at his position, and is always eager to prove himself. And outside of LeBron, and possibly at times Rose himself ... Kyrie is the 2nd or 3rd best offensive player in the series. And Derrick is guarding him on the other end every series when on the floor.
Hell, he's even having the heart to take charges in multiple games from the powerful high speed tank physically that is LeBron.
Besides all that he's been ridiculously clutch. Like today with the big three with 2 minutes left, then what would've been the amazing drive and layup to win the game. Even in his bad shooting game in game 2, he had a near triple double.
Hopefully, and god willing he keeps it up. It's a shame he's getting no respect from the refs on drives, and it makes him shoot a bit too many 3's for my liking. But it definitely looks now like he was saving himself for the playoffs, and I think deep down he wanted to face Kyrie / LeBron. Ultimate proving ground and redemption for 2011.
LeBron when not playing for the flop, hit an amazing game winner himself. Props. This series has been tremendously entertaining. My most anticipated series of the post season. Already two walk off game winners ... and I truly think it's going 7.
All things considering, people will disregard this, but Rose in the later more difficult stages of the playoffs, he's looked better than current MVP Steph Curry has. And both face great individual defenders while on offense.
