Or do they owe him too much money to cut ties already? This is the 2nd year Rockets got embarrassed in the playoffs. Yeah, they got to the 2nd round this year, but they had a joke of an opponent in the 1st to get here.

Sticking with the "hack a whoever" strategy when you're down 20+ late in the 3rd when you've been doing it all game... yeah. That's pretty embarrassing. The players were putting their heads down in shame after every foul even.

That's some soul-crushing coach play calling there.

I'm going to say no. They still need to add a few pieces. They did well with what they have. Clippers are just a better team.

The hacking strategy failed, if he keeps going to it then he is a fool.

Rockets did better than expected this year and they actually got past the 1st round so... No.

I thought he signed an extension midseason?

He shouldn't have been given an extension in the first place. If he's here next season I'm done with the Rox again.

I bet Rockets fans want him fired. Maybe he can go back to Boston.

They didn't fire him after last year, they gave him a extension so I'm betting that no he won't be fired

Doubt he gets fired but d12 looks so out of place when in the game for Houston...what's the chance they move him?

Howard has been our best playoff performer the last 2 years. 0 chance.

would u do dwight for LMA trade? and trade Tjones/Dmo for a serviceable C.

Well, if it was anyone else other than the Mavs... Might have easily been another 1st round exit.

I would assume they would fire him and try for someone different. Let's be real, they don't have a bad team, they just need a real coach.

I wouldn't. We have a 2 way center in Dwight. I'd do TJones/Dmo for LMA though lol

Wonder how far Morey tears this team apart... it's clear it needs more than just a couple of tweeks

They're missing Beverly who is a big deal. It's like how Wes Matthews got injured for Portland. That shit matters.

They aren't built for a championship, but I dunno how many tweaks you can make with those stars. I think they need a literal couple tweaks. It's just glue guys now, they have the talent.

Houston is supposed to be a defensive team. What kind of message does McHale think he's sending when he has his team fouling on purpose in the first quarter? Might as well just pull out the white flag. I find it hard to believe this guy was part of that late 80's Celtics squad. He would have never accepted this scared-ass strategy when he was a player.

Their two biggest stars are losers and the rest are average role players. Poor coach yeah but the gm sucks harder

McHale will be back on TNT before we know it

No. Les Alexander is too cheap. Most Rockets fans wanted him gone before last year. The embarrassing lost against Portland last year, with home court advantage, didn't get rid of McHale. He's here to stay.

No - what can he do about having a first option who's a perennial playoff choker? It's not like this shitty Houston team should be beating the Clippers (or Spurs had they won).

didn't they just re-sign him to a fat multi-year contract?

It's not McHale's fault this team sucks. Their two best players are not leaders, or winners. They have a history of quitting when things get hard. You can't win a title with Harden and Howard as your best players. It's Morey's dumbass fault for thinking he could.

Hacking DJ in the first quarter when the game was in single digits and thus using up valuable fouls was probably one of the single worst examples of coaching I've ever seen. It's like McHale saw that YouTube clip of Pop having the Spurs foul Shaq immediately after tipoff and didn't understand that that was a joke.
