Two reasons Lebron can never catch the all-time greats

1) Today's player benefits from weakside floor-spreaders and spacing that take defenders away from the strongside.. Previous eras didn't use the 3-point line and therefore didn't have weakside spacing, so they faced more defenders on the strongside than today's player does.

2) It's obvious that less is required to be considered great in today's game - Taj Gibson said Lebron was MJ, yet Lebron has only averaged 18.9 shot attempts per game in his playoff career.. The real MJ averaged 25.1, proving he carried the far bigger load and that his era required much more to win.. Pace is not a factor because Jordan's Bulls always played at the slowest pace in the league, equal or lower than any other era's pace.

I discuss these things here, because I never hear these things on any media anywhere.

And why wouldn't people agree?.. People normally agree with facts once they are made aware of them.

It's a fact that weakside floor spreaders and spacing didn't exist in previous eras, which can only mean they faced more defenders on the strongside than today's players.

It's a fact that Lebron only averaged 18.9 shots per game for his playoff career compared to MJ's 25.1, proving MJ carried the far bigger load - these aren't opinions.. They're facts.

Show me a play where today's player faced a strongside that had all 5 defenders on it - it simply never happens because today's game has weakside spacing/floor-spreaders..

Previous eras didn't have weakside floor-spreaders, so players faced more defenders on the strongside - even a cursory glance at footage shows this (see a few posts up)..
