put your hands down to your side while dropping back with him on defense and watch him flail his arms into nothing and turn the ball over :lol

here is a visual illustration of what defensive stance you need to be in to lock down one of the NBA's best "scorers"

So basically Doc could bench the starters and have the backups do this for the win:

Straight out of soccer, you will see NBA players lock their hands behind their back to avoid a hand ball in the paint [penalty box] :lol

right because he wouldnt just adjust his game and not attempt to draw contact... basically that one adjustment would cause him to have nonstop uncontested layups
leaving your theory null and void thus....QUITE LAME

At least the soccer players still try to score the ball. What Harden does is actually looking to hit the other players hands intentionally instead of trying to score. 80% of the time Harden has no intention to actually score the basketball, so you have to make it crystal clear that you don

he was going to shoot the ball, but because Reddick hided his hands, he passed the ball.
Idiots are right, this modern defensive schemes of this modern era are unparalleled with anything done before. Before you could put your hands on your opponent and limit his movements now you have to put your hands behind your back.

Its called playing defense with your feet, not your hands.
Its not some new revelation.

I legit, 100%, do not understand the "blueprint".
I was watching the game, I heard that Doc suggested it, but wtf. Seriously. W. T. F.
Why have the hands be DOWN instead of STRAIGHT UP? Again... WTF?!:biggums:
I literally can not think of a single instance in basketball in which is it better to have your hands down while defending than straight up. Obviously neither is ideal, but... straight up would be, literally (and I use that word in the literal sense), 100 times more effective. WTF.
Thus ends this rant. Come back tomorrow for more.

I'd be so nba'd out too if James Harden was my favorite player.
Wow, for the longest time I've always thought that Melo was a terrible defender. Little did I know that he was just ahead of his time and a true innovator.
Here he is utilizing the same defensive technique mentioned by OP:

Because Harden dives into those straight up arms and the refs call it for some insane reason.

I didn't get to watch much basketball this season.
Please show me a video of Harden "diving" into "straight up" arms and getting a defensive foul called.
