1. He wont demand a max contract
2. His playstyle is similar to Kobe and he can learn a lot from him
3. He is flashy so the fans will love him
4. He is clutch
5. He can finally get a ring and MvP award so I can die in peace

Lakers would need about 20 Monte Ellises just to make the playoffs

On the bulls he would be perfect. We were considering him before he left for Dallas.

Depends how you feel about having butler at the 3

Ellis would be good, but is he OK with Kobe trying to take his starting spot? Would Lakers start Ellis at PG?

A lot of great players will be FA at 2016. If lakes can land 1 max guy like Durant,Noah, Jefferson, AD, Horford or at least get couple of great players like Conley,Batum,Ross, Whiteside, Drummond they will be fine. Add the draft pick + a healthy Randle and you got a team.

In this SG hungry league Monta is the best player they go after. He is scoring on will and he seems more mature than ever ( obviously his trip to Milwaukee rang a bell for him). You have a literally 20+ Top level PGs in the league so giving max to a PG would be dumb. In SF if you can't get Durant/LeCrab you just get a D and 3 SF.
But find me another SG who will get paid as little as Ellis is getting paid and will average more than 25 PPG , 5 assists and 3 Steals.

Kobe has what 1 year left? And you think he will handle more than like 30 minutes per game for 82 games? I doubt. He can play PG when Kobe in the line up and wait for him to retire. After he retires he takes over the team.

i can see the 2016 signings be favorable for the Lakers ONLY if Kobe agrees to retire...if not, they arent attracting anyone worth mentioning IMO, likely money hungry rather than contention hungry players

As much as I like Kobe I really hope he retires after his contract is over. But even if he doesn't give me Ellis+ Whiteside along with a 3 and D SF and the lakers will be fine, assuming they won't **** up the draft pick.
