Haha I was having a conversation about Arby's with my sister and brother in law yesterday. Arby's is filled with nothing but old people, and somehow there are these restaurants everywhere, idk how they are making enough money to stay in business

The one nearest to me does pretty good because it's located in a truck stop right off the freeway, and you can walk up to the counter 24/7. That said I'm not a big fan of the roast beef sandwiches or fries.

Arby's niche was the hot roast beef sandwich, which I always thought was pretty good. I had a girlfriend back in the day that liked their baked potatoes, which is something you can't get from most other fast food places.

But other than those two things I agree that it was bad. Their cheese was always gross. Their fries were soggy. And I never understood the appeal of a deli sandwich from a place like that when at least around here there are seemingly a billion delis. I frankly can't understand how Subway makes it around here. And I have a stronger but similar opinion of franchise pizza near me. We just have too many really good local pizza places that vary in cost, quality, delivery, and quickness to order. But what do I know.



Ruby Tuesday's isn't great either. I like TGiF best out of the chain casual dining joints.


There's a franchise sandwich shop that opened a town over from me called DiBella's, which I've been to three or four times, and it's really outstanding. They don't have a ton of options. But they do philly cheesesteaks and chickensteaks and both are really good. They have a bunch of types of breads, and do deli sandwiches much better than Subway. They're a bit more expensive than Subway, but I've found them to be really excellent. Again, we have enough deli's that I wouldn't go for that, but the hot cheesesteak stuff is better than any of the local places around here.

There should be no debate that Wendy's doesn't have the best value. You can literally stuff your face for $4-$5 with their dollar menu. McDonalds is 2nd, the new special that they are running with every size drink is $1 is unbeatable.

It's all about goin to local joints tho. I went to this place called "ATL Wings" this weekend, best wings I ever had hands down. The owner and his family are from atlanta and opened this spot when they moved here. Another place in tempe called "The Chuckbox" have amazing burgers, "Chino Bandido" is like a mexian/asian fusion place that is bomb as well. Start eating at local joints, **** corporate places (except chipotle)

What can I say? There's always talk about them coming here but quite honestly I don't understand the hype. The first time I went to L.A. everyone was saying I had to go there because it's so awesome. I had high expectations but found the food to be just okay. You tell someone from California that and they act like you just called their mother a whore.
