It's probably not a concerted effort to have them advance, but it's subconscious by the refs, who are swayed by the media and false hype around lebron - due to the extra hype surrounding the Cavs, the refs simply expect good things to happen for the Cavs so they call the game that way in the tight moments.

It used to happen with the early 2000's Lakers ALL THE TIME, but at least they were a great team.
