From 3 possible game winners, and 2 buzzer beaters in a Series to losing in 6.
This entire series could have gone down as one of the greatest performances OF ALL TIME for Paul. It was Michael Jordanesque. But now no one will care because he lost.

They would have gotten swept next series anyway. Would have been impressive for someone his age though.

He even had a wide open 3 to win in game 3 that he normally makes.

As a basketball fan, I'm disappointed. I'm not even the biggest Truth fan, but what he was doing was remarkable and beautiful to watch. It's sad it had to end the way it did, but that's basketball. This one hurts. This was something we could be talking about 20 years from now.

I won't forget it.
He took Toronto's soul and helped his young and injured team to 6 games against a 60-win team.
Pierce is a one-of-a-kind NBA legend. Respect it.

Still one of the best signings of 2014/15. The guy is a beast competitor with veins made out of ice shards. Nothing but respect for the truth

This. We already knew he was clutch, we already knew he was an all time great, it's not like by winning this series he moves into the top 10 lol.

It just sucks cuz for other dudes its like oh well next year, but PP knows next year he is going to be way worse... getting old sucks. Being an old guy and losing has to suck esp when you were one of the best players on your team.

he's what 37, 38? I don't think his skillset and athletic ability is going to deteriorate to badly. Doc has always said he could play for a long long time i'd say skillfully and athletically (assuming he keeps in shape) he could play another 3 years at the same level he's playing right now. It's more about his passion for the game and the ordeal of going through an 82 game season on his body.

That shot with 2 seconds left shouldn't have counted. But the refs wanted to screw the Hawks, but they just couldn't pull it off.
As it stands... PP was 1-2 in game winners.
PP is a turd and I'm glad he will be gone soon.

Hate but respect pierce with all my soul. Wish we couldve saw one more LeBron vs Pierce series. I think Pierce is the only perimeter player that LeBron had a rivalry with.

True. Even Lebron had admitted that... Ultimate respect from his ultimate oppontent...

The biggest "what if" in Pierce's career is still what would have happened if he had joined forces with KG earlier on... I say top 5-6 SF and top 30 of all-time... but legacies are not built on what if's...

A little over a decade ago (maybe 2003?) Reggie Miller gave Kidd's Nets all they could handle before eventually losing. This is kind of like that. I don't think this playoff run was going to massively boost Pierce's place in history. He is one of the greatest small forwards in NBA history. But does anyone think the two series put him on par with Dr. J? I doubt it. And if you don't think that his play over this postseason puts him at that level then his place in basketball history is basically the same. Pierce succeeded in showing a few more fans that he's clutch but it's not like he had an All-NBA or even All-Star season so it's tough to say that this puts him any further ahead the next time there's an argument over whether or not he's better than _______.

The greatest thing about Paul Pierce to me is that with all of James' athletic advantages and with all the popular support James had over him Pierce did not care, had no fear, would step up to the challenge every time. Even when he loses you can never say that Pierce gave up.

LeBron lost 1-4 to the 2009 Magic and people still replay his gamewinning 3.
Pierce won't be remembered for this series mainly because he's not that big of a name outside of the Boston market and diehard NBA fans.
His legacy is in Boston anyway.

He's the most clutch player since Michael Jordan after this series.
