The best 2 players in basketball are LeBron James and Stephen Curry. Steph Curry has surpassed LeBron James. Steph Curry is with out a doubt better offensively, and defensively the gap as closed significantly. LeBron James maxed out as a defensive stopper in 2009 and has been on the steady decline ever since. He is a good defensive player but his defensive presence gets overestimated due to his 1 or 2 highlight chase-down blocks he gets per game. Steph Curry close to equates these possessions through steals even though they arn't as flashy and don't register on the ESPN top 10 plays. On the offensive end there isn't an argument that Curry brings more than LeBron. Curry demands more off ball attention to the extent that teams try to double him at the 3 point line and he can still burn them through passing out or catching a half assed screen and still burying the shot. LeBron has been the best since 2009 but the torch has been passed. Curry has elevated his game to another level while LeBron has been humbled by the ultimate opponent, father time. Stephen Curry is the best player in basketball as of today.
