Pele is a little bit overrated. He is not GOAT in my opinion. Notice how he is compared to Messi because Cristiano Ronaldo is better than him by miles.

Beckenbauer said it days ago. Your initial post was clearly false. Di Stefano, Cruyff and Rivera are not "Pele's pals". Rivera is 3 and Cruyff, 7 years younger than Pele. Whehre did you take this "stole their glory" part?

Wrong. 2012 was his best individual season but because the team was mediocre that season we only won the cup.. RM dominated the league and chelsea beat us in the CL 1/2 final.

You need to have a lot of help in football.. even in basketball you need a lot of help where its 5x5..

Only a few if these quotes state that he's the goat, though. He surely is the best of this generation. I think that Kloppo quote, while a bit of a hyperbole, explains it the best. CR was seen as a once in a generation talent, but when Messi emerged soon after Ronaldo was always compared to Messi, even his stans like 9er always talk about how CR surpasses, will surpass or has surpassed Messi - basically saying CR isn't in a class of his own and has to measure up to Messi. You rarely see Messi fans behaving that way.

True. There are many arguments to be made for who is the GOAT, a couple of players involved, and the debate isn't all that interesting to me. How can you truly compare Pele to Messi? You can't. All you can really say is that because of their performance in their own era, they are worthy of consideration.
