If anyone cares...by the DPOY voting it would have been:

00 - Eddie Jones
01 - Christie
02 - Kobe
03- Artest
04- Artest
05- Bowen
06 - Bowen
07- Bowen
08 - Battier
09 - Lebron
10 - Gerald Wallace
11 - Tony Alen
12 - Lebron
13- Lebron
14- Iggy
15- Leonard

Though a lot of those years the leading non bigman voter got very few votes.

This shit is a myth.:biggums: Lebron has never been a lockdown defender where it wasn't help defense compared to the other names you've mentioned.

I can probably give him credit for 13 since the Heat's D was suffocating throughout the year, but that has more to do with Spo's defensive schemes more so than Bron chasing down a block every once and awhile. Kobe deserves more of the nod for 08 and 09 where his defense kicked up considerably.

defensively...Kobe is OK at best. I never saw him DPOY material. Is there a more overrated defender than him?

I like this list except for Kobe in 2002. Kidd or Christie for me.

The criteria didn't specify "lock-down". In those years listed he was as impactful overall as any wing defender.

You can't deny his defensive impact.

Kobe was a better defensive player than Wade in 09?...

Defensive awards are pretty terrible anyway. Shawn Marion has never been on the all defensive team. He has been one of the most versatile defenders in the league for the last decade.

Not too many players can guard:

Chris Paul/Russell Westbrook
Kobe Bryant/Dwyane Wade
LeBron James/Kevin Durant

And had to guard **all** of them every playoff game in 2011.
