yes
old man kg and declinebe in the asg owned his soul, a real rival in his prime would have meant 0 rings for his beta self

The Truth and Popovich were very respectable rivals.
Then there are bishes he made who is not worthy of the word rival:
Durant
Kobe
Rose
George?
Just because Lebron got the best of Kobe majority of the time they ever met doesnt mean he is weak tho....

Lebald quit in 2010 against the Cs so he wouldn't have to face Godbe in the finals..
nah I wouldnt say kobe is a weak rival

I put 2000's Shaq vs Duncan. They were more of rivals, then kobe vs duncan.
more defending each other.
For lebron, his rival is paul pierce and the celtics.

You can't call it rivalry if they never faced each other in the playoffs multiple times.
So it leaves us with Pierce, which was more of a 00s choise and then rose or kawhi, both kinda terrible all-stars

He had potential good rivals on Pierce/KG/Allen but those big 3 made him cried and quit his team. The big 3 was alrdy too told when Lebron seek revenge with the Miami Heat

nah I wouldnt say kobe is a weak rival
their legacies barely overlap
kobes run was 2001 to 2010
lebrons run was 2010 to now
for like one year there was a real argument who the better player was
kobe and lebron were never a rival.
1999 - spurs champs
2000 - lakers champs
2001 - lakers champs
2002 - lakers champs
2003 - spurs champs
2004 - lakers finals
2005 - spurs champs
2007 - spurs champs
2008 - lakers finals
2009 - lakers champs
2010 - lakers champs
6 playoff series vs each other
kobe winning 4
duncan winning 2
lebron was barely a blip during kobe and duncans primes/runs to the finals as their teams best players
lebron finally got the monkey off his back in 2012... 2 years after kobe/duncans best days were behind them

shaq was a half decade player... he had more total elite years in the 90's if anything
and kobe gave lebron plenty of chances while he was still in his prime... its not kobes fault lebron couldnt get to the finals with a 65+ win team

Not really, 08-11 were the only years that both were real championship contenders.

kobes last prime year was 2010
2011 his knees were finished
2012 he was good again but gasol sucked
2013 he was great again. but howard/gasol/nash were always hurt or sucking
then he got hurt
if there ever would have been a good showdown it would had to of been in 2009 or 2010... and both years lebron had the best record and won league mvp. so he should have made the finals.

kobe won 5 titles all during a time when tim duncan was elite or near it... and hes another top 10 player all time
lebron won 2 titles. both during a time when no other top 30 legend all time was close to their prime ( except for his team mate dwyane wade )
wade was supposed to be lebrons rival
but he ran to team up with him

or maybe Wade.
Wade is one of his greatest regular season rivals, their head-to-head games are very close in W/L and productivity.
Head-to-head:
LBJ: 29/5.6/7.4/1.2/.06
.473/.357
14 wins
Wade 27.1/5.2/6.2/2.4/.09
.465/.333
11 wins
It's a shame they hooked up.

its like the exact opposite of the kobe/shaq story
2 all time greats that couldnt stand each other. always wanting to outdo/1up the other. desperately trying to climb the all time greats ladder... winning unhappily... being tortured by fans and the media until they break up... both winning titles without each other. kobe creating his own legendary legacy without shaq. solidifying his greatness
then theres the lebron/wade story
2 all time greats that love each other. even when competing they suck each others c*cks. always wanting to team up and help each other out. sacrificing their own legacies and respect. given titles not earned. loving the media and the media loving them back for being sell outs. throwing away a possible GOAT level feud

The closest rival I would say would be Tony Parker. Parker is 2-1 against Lebron in the Finals (11-5 if you count games). Parker outplayed Lebron in 2007, but Lebron outplayed Parker in 2013 & 2014.

I can agree that 09 or 10 were good years for their showdown..
But.. with regards with what you said...... it's as easy as saying that LeBron's teammates sucked in 09 and 10, just like Kobe's teammates "sucked" in 11-13.
By the way, we'll never know how bad Kobe's knees really were in 11, Lakers were 57-25, he averaged 25/5/5, and never missed a game... either he was still a championship level player or his teammates were that good.

His same position; paul pierce. 2-2, lebron grew from those matchups.
Kd could be one if both teams meet a couple times in the finals.
Paul george as well but lebron is 3-0 vs him.
Besides his position there is probably 2.
Rose(but he is 0-4 vs lebron so idk if this is a rivalry tbh) and the spurs(duncan and parker)
