Okay so I keep getting phonecalls from different advertising/marketing places DAILY every single day for last 10 asking me to buy something. They obviously have Chinese accent.

I used to be friendly and said "Sorry, I'm not interested." Now I am ANNOYED. I block every number, but they keep calling from new numbers. Now I say "Not interested" because the first sentence they say is always the same & I can tell the accent.

Some of the people are obnoxious when you refuse.. Here's transcript of one of them that I wrote down few days ago.
-"Hello sir, I am calling from blah blah medical company. May I please verify your name? Is this ***?"
---Hello, yes this is he speaking. What is this concerning?
-"Sir, you are the winner of $7000 government grant that you don't have to pay back."
---Is this marketing? If not, send me the check.
-"No sir, you have to buy blah blah for only this amount of time"... on and on she drones on in Chinese accent about some nonsense I have to buy
---Sorry, I am not interested
-She says "Why are you wasting my time then?"
-...at that point I lost my patience and said "Ok, don't call me again. Bye." and she started to say something. I hung up before she could say anything further. I put the number on reject list..

I STILL GET THE CALLS FROM DIFFERENT NUMBERS!! I cannot tell if it's somebody legit or not until I pick up. Now, I just say "Not interested" after first sentence they say because I can tell, they just hang up.

Any suggestions? I have verizon.. 2 damn weeks straight. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

They wanted my bank info or credit-card info. Sounds like fraud. When I asked if they will send me the $7000 grant check in mail, they were "We no longer do that." That is obviously bs :oldlol:

That was me trying to be an ass. If you're legit, send me the grant info/check in mail or stop calling :lol

Don't pick up the call?

Yeah, I think you're right. If it's somebody important, they will leave a voicemail. These other turds don't leave a voicemail. It is still pretty annoying, but I guess I have to deal with it.

Wish I knew HOW or WHERE they got my number & name from.. I asked them once, but they didn't know :confusedshrug:

They probably got it when you signed up for some account, subscription or service when they ask for the email. That same company probably then gave away your information to some advertising agency.

I get alot of calls as well and I can tell by the number if it's important or not.

I just realized something.

Some of these numbers don't have a full phone-number. I see 35, 40, 0000000, 4162.. These are routed through some anonymity service. I can block them all I want, but it won't matter. These I cannot block, but I won't pick them up ever again.

It's the other regular numbers I'm getting that are fooling me. I'm guessing there are 2 separate marketing agencies calling me. Both have strong Chinese accents. These I can block and already have.

Lets see what happens when I don't pick up at all next few days. They might stop calling.

I used to get similar phone calls from out of state numbers (ID would say Washington, California, Virginia, New York, Maine, etc., I live in Arkansas) pretty often, sometimes the same number 3-4 times a day 4-5 days in a row, and I'd just always ignore them. After a week or so they'd stop calling.

No clue if me just not ever answering their calls was the reason they stopped calling, but it worked and I never had to talk to some annoying scam telemarketer.
