I hope not. Kobe has an alpha mentality but he doesn't have it to the same crazy extreme that Jordan did imo. So long as Okafor (assuming he's their pick) comes in ready to bring his best and play to win I think there won't be any issues.

They weren't 19 year old rookies when they played with 5-rings Kobe.

Bynum doesn't count because Kobe hadn't proved **** without Shaq when they were playing.

it's not about kobe (or jordan's) maturity, it's about guys like kwame being mentally weak

lol how is that relevant.. if anything Kobe's calmed down since winning those 2 rings..

when Bynum came into the league he was 18 and Kobe was coming off one of the worst years of his career... if there was anytime that Kobe was going to be an uptight asshole that would put extra pressure on rookies it would have been the years before he won without shaq..

Remember when MJ broke Charles Barkley's confidence during the 1993 finals? This is what Chuck has to say about it now.

"Michael and I laughed about that 10 years, 20 years later,” said Barkley, whose final NBA game came 15 years ago Sunday. “They say we played golf together everyday, and we never played golf. They said we had dinner together every night, and we never had dinner. So we always found it funny that people said we spent every night together. We never saw each other during the Finals."

Bull ****. Chuck got mentally destroyed by MJ 20 years ago and now he's trying to save face. Rent-free two decades later. That's alpha.

If a little rookie hazing from a washed-up superstar is enough to destroy a man's confidence, then he really isn't much of a man anyway.

Well put.

Obviously there was huge pressure on kobe to win w/o shaq.. would've been constantly berating teammates if they underperformed (although most of them didnt, still wasn't enough tho) .

But old kobe isn't that big a d! Ck.. hes played magic mode more in 2015 and 2013 seasons than he did the rest of his career combined.. and generally just tries to give advice, maybe tease a little With 1 on 1s

MJ was a douche his whole life... was always trying to one up everybody in everythong. kobe might try to one up you on the court, but he isn't a competitive maniac about everything. Kobe can guide young players without his ego popping up, unlike mj.. who always needs to win and be the alpha male at everything to an almost annoying try hard degree.
