I still don't understand the criticism Kobe gets for this. This is seriously a shortened version of how it went down:
Lakers: "Want $30 million?"
Kobe: "Sure"
What was he supposed to do?

It is a bad thing when you're missing the playoffs.
only if you have a real shot at a title
lakers with kobes pay cut money could only be slightly better and just get average draft picks instead of great ones
so in this case.. it was the absolute best possible thing and kobe saved the lakers future.
they owe everything to his contract. it was entirely responsible for this turn of events

I would take the money as well. Think the main gripe is Kobe saying "I want to win more rings" while he is swallowing the cap

Be Dirk or Duncan. Duncan won last year but I wonder how them second and first round exits feel with the short change?

Sadly for op, Kobe wont be around to enjoy the team's success. He'll enjoy early off-seasons until he retires

kobe is more closer to winning rings now because of taking 25 mill than he would have been if he had taken a pay cut
clarkson/randle/towns or okafor are worth more than 15 mill extra in free agent spending
haters stay losing..

The worst part? Homeboy is having a meltdown for a player who hasn't mattered in 4-5 years...damn, pathetic.

When the owner has no intention of building a championship team I'm pretty sure anyone would take it...

Top 3 would be candidate in my opinion. You seriously think if the media didn't "hate him" he would have won the MVP in 2013?

Maybe everyone should shut up about how much he wants to win, and how he'd do anything to win more titles.
Firstly, no one cares, and secondly, it isn't true.
