So obvious...

Kobe..no defence..inefficient
randle...no defence..too small/no jump shot
new rookie...need 2 seasons to get NBA ready

This the west we talking about

1.GSW
2.Houston
3.Clippers
4. SA
5. Memphis
6. OKC
7. Portland
8. Dallas
9. Pelicans
(in no order)

Lakers aren't pushing any of the top 8 out of the playoffs especially when we consider their years of experience playing with each other and the lower teams like Portland/Dallas/Pelicans are only going to get better.

Lakers be lucky to sniff top 10 in the West. 3rd straight year of tanking agree?

It's not about winning next season but rather setting goals and achieving them, securing assets helps teams period. Sure, the Lakers in their current condition are still much worse than, say, the Clippers (and other contenders) post-lottery win. But given their season goals, the Lakers have tremendously over-achieved while the Clippers have been left pondering the future of their current roster after their unexpected 2nd-round exit.

They may not be a playoff team (hard to predict when they have a whole offseason to work deals and two lottery rookies about to be added on) but this isn't tanking. They were just bad last year because they were poorly constructed. They have been trying to get more stars just couldn't. Randle got injured, Nash got injured, Bryant got injured. The latter two maybe they shouldn't have been counting on but that would be poor judgement, not tanking. Saying they are tanking is unfair. There are still cases of bad teams that became bad while making an honest effort to be good.

Goal 1:

Repeat 2014-15 season. Secure top 5 pick.

Goal 2:

Draft another lottery pick.

If their goal was to suck their way to the top, they achieved.

Lakers, even when they suck they got exactly what they wanted.

Knicks need to learn how to NBA

I just wanna point out, there's just as many of these shook ass damage control threads as overreaction threads made by Laker fans concerning our pick.

Ni99as are hype because of the potential, no one thinks we're winning a championship next year, or even the year after. At least they shouldn't.

But we will be a competitive moving forward.

Future repped for being the rare intellectual on ISH who understands the concept of patience and planting seeds. It's why people overreact to what Phil's been doing in New York. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Knicks need to learn how to NBA

Towns/Okafor/D'Angelo/Mudiay

that's a strong 4 and if they get any of the guards, they should be okay. How is this a fail?
