I'm terrified of the Lakers possibly giving into Kobe's demands and trading the #2 pick for an asset right now.

I have no doubt Kobe holds great influence over the franchise, and right now I'm thinking Kobe is looking at the #2 pick as a trade piece rather than a player the Lakers will need to develop. Can't really even blame him at wanting one more shot at contention, it's who he is.

Lakers won't trade the pick. Kobe is pretty much finished. Okafor/Towns, Randle, and Clarkson is their core.

I sure hope so. But you just know Kobe's making the call to Mitch to see who he's planning to get for that pick.

great influence? Kobe wanted Adelman in 2011, they got Mike Brown
Kobe wanted Phil in 2012, they got Mike D'Antoni

Jim Buss and Kobe don't get along and it's well documented, Kobe has no say in the Lakers' basketball operations.

No, Kobe just said he was fine with the Mike D'Antoni signing, but the idea came from apparently a sick Jerry Buss, who wanted to bring Showtime back, but I bet it ultimately came down to Jim Buss.

You think Kobe would choose MDA over a guy that mentored him and helped him win 5 rings? :biggums:

It's just a message board. You can say whatever you want. But yeah, I think Kobe would choose mda. Because he did
