I miss Emeka Okafor. I wanted him on the Celtics so badly during the Big 3 era.

Emeka never fully panned out. He was fine, but ultimately not the star you hope for as a top pick. Jahlil has a great chance of being better.

Is Emeka coming back or he called it quits?

Does this mean Towns will be Dwight?

LOL. Towns and Jahlil are much more skilled than D12 and Emeka.

Emeka was pretty good in his prime. Never reached #1 expectations but I don't know if I'd put my money on Jahlil being better.

Whoever plays with Kobe. Big men win championships with Kobe.

I'm actually surprised no one picked up Emeka after he became a free agent, I still think he can be a solid player in this league. Surely a contender like the Cavs or Rockets could have used him for the minimum :confusedshrug:

okafor reminds me of tim duncan on offense ( polished, not as athletic but can dunk. can hit face up jumpers. great hands. will become a great big within 1-2 years and dominate well into his late 30's )

towns reminds me of anthony davis ( raw, great sense for the ball on defense. good footwork. his back down step through move creating space with his elbows reminds me of bynum. will be great within 3-4 years but only dominate till 31-32. looks like a guy who will be crap when his athleticism fades )

towns is the better all around player. okafor is the better offensive player

*edit.. just noticed this is about emeka vs jahlil lol... nevermind

I remember him coming in as NBA ready and the sure thing but with limited upside. He was more ready than dwight but clearly limited potential. He also played 4 years at uconn if I'm not mistaken. Jahlil is younger, has more upside and is far better offensively than emeka coming into the league.

If the lakers do end up with Jahil, id be interested in seeing LA going after Emeka, if healthy. Something around the vets min, in hopes of helping develop his brother for the NBA game, particularly defensively.

Better comparison might be brook Lopez with higher potential. Duncan was elite defensively, okafor no where close

Not brothers, dummy.

It's called a joke

Started awhile back with Luol Deng and his cousin Giorgi Dieng

A lot of kids in this thread have no idea how good Emeka Okafor was coming out of college.

Jahlil is a more refined offensive player, but Emeka was a defensive beast (over 4bpg) and a proven winner, having won a championship with UConn.

That said, Jahlil put up crazy numbers for a freshman.

In terms of their pro careers, I think Jahlil will do better than Emeka did, but the latter was plagued by back problems.
