View Full Version : Better for LeBron's legacy to lose this round?

LeBron losing to Atlanta in a tough fought series with a hobbled Kyrie and no Kevin Love while putting up big numbers would look better on his legacy than making it to the Finals and getting blown out of the water by Golden State and ending up 2/6 in the Finals. Yes or no?

Not making it out of the shit east with a stacked to hell roster is a pretty big hit on his legacy, really.

He's going 2/6 regardless if it's this yr or the next since the East is so garbage. Might as well get it over with. :lol

Heck might as well not advance to the playoffs at all to protect his finals percentage from getting even lower. That logic :facepalm

For some people, and many people in the mainstream nba fan-base (who won't remember, or understand, the context of the situation), it will indeed be better if Lebron loses to Atlanta.
Which makes you realize how stupid the legacy list thing really is.

Definitely. 5 straight finals appearances is a good thing. Hasn't been done in our era.

Losing earlier is better to complete ****ing idiots. As has been covered in 3 dozen topics the last month.
Don't let these retards influence you. Losing in the finals while playing well > not making the finals at all. Period.

its better to make the finals. but its bad to lose more finals than you win
i try explaining this every time this topic comes up
no its not better to miss the finals. but you should always have more wins than losses in each round you make it to
if you've made 10 first rounds ( win atleast 5-6 )
if you've made 6 second rounds ( win atleast 3-4 )
if you've made 4 WCF's ( win atleast 2-3 )
if you've made 3 nba finals ( win atleast 2 )
this is how most greats have their resume's

What kind of idiotic posts is this?? I like their chances against the Warriors if they beat the Hawks in the conference finals. Warriors don't play big. They just need to defend Curry and Klay.

Kyrie Irving is feeling good. And he'll play in the conference finals.

The reason why its an issue is because its a direct comparison to MJ, one which LeBron* set himself up for thanks to his ego. The more he loses in the finals, the further he will be behind MJ.
Yeah, no shit its better to make it to the finals. But thats not what it's about. It's LeBrons* legacy as a WINNER that's going to be remembered. Does anyone boast how AMAZING Elgin Baylor was? Dude made EIGHT finals appearances... and never won a ring. By that standard he should be a top 5 GOAT. But yet, somehow that same rationale doesn't apply to LeBron*?
WTF?

Why are you comparing Baylor to LeBron?? LeBron > Baylor. The Lakers did give Baylor a championship ring. Learn some history F@ggot.

Do you seriously have to ask why? Are you an idiot?
Also, LOL @ calling me a f@ggot when the ring doesn't even count. Baylor contributed nothing to that team that year. The ring was out of pity. Yeah, tell me more about learning some history.
Dumbass phucking LeBron* obsessed homer.

At least he had a championship ring. Those 1960's Celtics were a much deeper and more talented team than West and Baylor's Lakers.
Will you kill yourself if LeBron wins his finals MVP??? LBJ with same numbers of Finals MVP as MJ at age 30.

I feel bad for anyone that has given this theory any real thought.
All players want to win, under NO CIRCUMSTANCE would ANYONE prefer to lose at an earlier stage in order to prevent themselves from losing in the Finals.

I wish LeBron could read this bullshit and put everyone on this forum in their place. Wow. Can't believe some people would believe this.

Ok let's say Baylor was the "Lebron" of his era, choker, loser on the big stage blah blah blah. Would it be better for him to have been the Carmelo of his era instead? I, mean seriously wtf :biggums:
No shit it would be better for everyone to have a winning record in the Finals but this doesn't happen for everyone. Maybe they're not that great, maybe it's the circumstances, maybe the opposing team is better etc. Saying that it's better to lose earlier than losing to the Finals is just stupid.

Every single person who watched him play a basketball game does. We not counting them?

Going to ____ and never winning wouldnt be the same thing as Lebron.
Going to ____ and winning 2 would. So we are talking closer to Wilt...who won twice in 6 trips...not Baylor.
Besides Baylor still wouldnt be top 5 considering....
Russell 12
Magic 8
West 9
Hondo 8(2 after bil so im counting him and not Cousyl)
Kareem 10
And considering that they won a combined....30+...I think all would go over Elgin if thats how it were ranked.
