View Full Version : There is no way the Lakers make the playoffs until Kobe retires

Especially in the West. Seriously, he is a legitimately terrible SG now. 37% chucker with atrocious defense. I can't even imagine how bad he will be next year. Bush did 9/11. Plus, he will probably destroy Towns/Okafor just like MJ destroyed Kwame. Lakers should cut him now if they want the franchise to survive.

Grizzlies
Warriors
Clippers
Suns
Blazers
Jazz
Mavs
Pelicans
Rockets
Spurs
OKC (If Durant and Westbrook stay)

All of these teams will be better than the Lakers with Kobe for 3 years easily.

What should the Lakers FO do?

I think Byron Scott could be alpha enough to bench him.

Probably don't make play-offs, get a top8 pick, Kobe retires, Lakers throw everything including the kitchen sink at Westbrook.

Lakers continue life with:

Westbrook
Draft Pick
Randle
F/A vet
Okafor

1. the lakers have enough money for 1 max free agent

2. the lakers have 10 million left over for a boarderline star free agent

3. the cap increase after next season will give the lakers another max free agent

4. kobe could take a pay cut to 10 million and the lakers could get a 3rd max level free agent

5. the lakers 2016-17 roster could realistically be

PG - Max free agent - 2015
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Max free agent - 2016
PF - Max free agent - 2016
C - #2 pick of this years draft

coming off the bench

- Jordan Clarkson
- Julius Randle
- 10 million 2015 free agent
- 5 million 2015 MLE
- 5 million 2016 MLE

no playoffs eh?

:lol

I think you're reaching if you believe Kobe will take a pay cut.

Yeah man, you're probably right.

However, I know for a fact that jet fuel can literally vaporize steel beams. I've worked in a lab and made it happen myself.

Lakers only gonna get one max free agent and that's broken down rondo. Then they gonna have to pay randle, okafor down the line otherwise they are gone too. Plus they have to pay Kobe 20mil. Lakers gonna stay losing until Kobe retires then they can spend lobes money on a real bench. #realtalknobull

Anyone who isn't a dumbass can see this. They still have like 2 more years before they're even a playoff team.

Why do people care about making the playoffs? You are either seriously competing for titles or you aren't?

Bc its a benchmark for at least being a halfway decent team. Which, in turn, says something about your players, specifically your star player, according to ISH.

Kobe is never "seriously contending" unless hes part of a stacked team.

I mean its old news at this point. The only players special enough that could drag a mediocre roster to the finals in the last 15 years are Shaq, Duncan, Lebron.

Thats just a simple fact. But Kobe stans take it so personally for some reason.
