David Blatt wtf

How you run the same play 5 times in a row. Lebron iso at key, dribbles it in and forces a shot. Resulting in poor shot or turnover. Wtf is going on here. Why aren't that running a set play.

Sure this most recent one worked only cause the Hawks had a defensive breakdown.

Blatt is the damn coach. Sure Lebron has his coaches confidence to call plays. But when that isn't working, especially late game playoff situations...unacceptable .

He's not the best iso player in league. You could even argue Smith is a better iso player.

He was coach when Cleveland had those bad possessions. Thats my point. Blatt should have adjusted and ran a play or two.

Anyway, when you have a lead, how many coaches would NOT give the ball to their best player and let them do what they do ? At some point 24s off the game clock is basically as valuable as 2 points.

I exaggerated with the Smith remark. However Smith is a better Shooter than Lebron. Why not let him iso, put up a jumper and give us a chance for rebound.

Lebron was not trusting his jumper on those series of posessions and he just turned it over easily.

That got a little dicey. I'd guess it was a mutual decision - a kind of "I got Paul Millsap on me, let's run clock and let me isolate" type of thing. However, there may have been a little too much stagnation and perhaps even overconfidence there. Even in super clear mismatches, it can be dangerous to let yourself take that mismatch lightly.

He's not the best ISO player though. He's nowhere near the ISO player he was last year.

Exactly. I was getting more upset because Hawks were scoring after we failed to. Cleveland couldn't stop them for that stretch.

Inside the NBA guys basically said what I said here in thread. Then a few guys in the game thread here supported this. Specifically Redblackattack posted this pic in response to a box score lebron troller saying lebron dominated the game. Lebron had a good game dont get me wrong. He almost blew it though, this is when a good coach would have stepped in to draw a good play or two.
