View Full Version : The Atlanta Hawks are just fodder

Who seriously believed the Hawks could beat the Cavs? They are getting swept, or at best winning 1 game
Playoff fodder, they don't have "it"

The cavs didn't beat Atlanta that bad and nearly let them comeback. What the hell are you talking about? Without jr having a flukey game the Hawks might have won

No one else off the bench scored for the Cavs though and Kyrie barely played. The Hawks can go 15/30 for 3's though and win a game.

Key thing to remember folks... If the other team has a good shooting game it is a flukey shooting game.
Teams are shooting 38% against the Hawks in three's.... But it's a fluke.

Hawks wouldn't even make it past the First Round in the Western Conference. The entire team is a joke.

That's exactly whats alarming, half of their team didn't play or didn't score, JR and LeBron were the only scoring options and you guys still lost.

But jr balanced that out. His incredibly hot shooting isn't gonna happen often and that type of game in particular will never happen for the rest of his life. That was what won Cleveland the game. The current team doesn't have a lot of talent out side of LeBron. If LeBron can't completely dominate he's gonna need a role player to completely go off like tonight

Cavs are on their last leg. They have hardly anybody left and it won't take long to wear the Cavs out with how active their offense is. Hawks seem to have luck on their side. They've gotten huge breaks from injuries except the one tonight. Let's face it, Hawks are just going to the Finals no matter how badly they end up chucking. It's the season of the chuckers. Let's see how many records we can break in the finals on 3 point attempts.

Let's face it, Hawks are no match for the playoffs Cavs, even with Love out and Kyrie hobbled. Hawks are a regular season phenom, at this point. Some more seasoning is needed.
Most of you completely overlook JR, Tristan, Mozgov, and Blatt, and that's why the Cavs will beat the Hawks in 4 or 5. LBJ is a constant, but the players around him have been playing D, hitting big shots, and falling in-line with LBJ's methods.

Cavs looked bored, tbh.
LeBron basically went ISO every possession and could've gotten anything he wanted had it not been for a couple of no-calls. Cleveland is too deep for all these EC squads; and just as OP states, they're ultimately fodder

Not really. They're doing what professional basketball players are paid millions of dollars to do- hit easy, open, practice level shots which is what ATL is giving them. They are playing like absolute retards defensively.
Pop and the Spurs gave everyone the blueprint on how to play a LeBron led team. Sag off him with single coverage and make him want to take shots (his jumper has been abysmal this postseason too), make sure his passing options are covered, especially shooters at the 3.
He's at his most dangerous when teams overreact to him and give him passing options and his teammates great looks. Like tonight Shumpert barely had anyone within 10 feet of him on his shots because the Hawks were going overboard on Bron.
None of their perimeter players can stop him down low and he's been taking advantage of that. Just do what Pop does with Boris... put one of the bigs on him, whichever one is most mobile. Sag off. Guard his passing options. He's carving them up like a birthday cake with his passing and play making.

The Cs did have a baffling postseason that year but they also had KG, Pierce, and Ray all bonafide superstars near if not in their primes. The Hawks don't have anything remotely near that level of talent and they are nowhere near as great defensively as a unit.
Hawks are straight trash and I'll never be able to figure out how they won 60 this year. They're no different than they have been the past few years where they couldn't get out of the 2nd round... hell, they look worse than that 37 win team :lol

Just throwing it out there that once the Hawks did this- put Millsap on him, sagged off, and covered the shooters- ATL went on a 11-2 run and took the lead in the 4th. Bron kept turning the ball over late because there was someone covering his usually wide open passing options.
Too bad they are too stupid for their own good and completely fumbled at the end. :facepalm
