View Full Version : Why is Lebron taking 26 shots when JR Swish is taking 16?

Lebron took 26 shots to score 31 points.
JR Swish took 16 shots to score 28 points.
Give JR the ball and stop shooting Lebron. :facepalm

JR is a very underrated player and I think he is a better player than someone like Ray Allen, in terms of scoring and skill set.
If people think Ray Allen led the Heat to a championship then I have no problems saying JR Smith over Allen and Lebron because JR has actually been pretty damn dominant with the Cavs.

Kobe should have given more shots to Gasol as well. The true FMVP of the '09 and '10 Lakers was robbed! Dude would've averaged 30 PPG if Kobe realized his role as a sidekick.

According to most major media outlets on the game......
JR SMITH...front of the page.

------------------------
Then you click on the article....the 2nd paragraph starts off with JR Smith. What this is telling me is JR led the Cavs but you guys try to say otherwise. Notice how Lebron is an after thought.

I've been owning a lot of people in my time on ISH and it seems nothing has changed, as I keep bringing evidence and facts. I didn't need these articles to prove my trained eyes, I just needed them to prove it to you box score watchers who didn't watch the game.

I agree to an extent, I don't know why Lebron just stopped feeding JR who was HOT. It felt like every attempt would go and then he narrowly missed one and Lebron started hogging the ball.

yeah, Its funny cos I remember a few years ago someone on this board was talking about how they were watching JR Smith in a warmup before a game, and that he was just casually sinking 3 pointers after 3 pointer without even really concentrating.
For the first time ever last night I realized that damm, this guy has some serious game.

Like Wilt's FT's in a 2 pt loss of a Finals Game 7?
You mean the game seven, when as ALWAYS, he raised his game, and thoroughly dominated a helpless Russell with an ...get this... .875 FG%! Or a ...get this... .621 TS%, which BTW, was higher than the shot-jacking West's .553. Meanwhile, how about Russell's TS%... get this... .313!
Chamberlain also grabbed, by far, the most rebounds in that game, with 27. In fact, he outrebounded Russell in the 4th quarter, 7-2...all while playing five minutes less.
Furthermore, had he been put back in the game at the 3 minute mark, like he asked, LA would have won a title that season. Instead, they fell short...and their incompetent Wilt-hating coach was fired.
Of course, Wilt would lead them to a title a couple of years later with as dominating a Finals as ever been...all while "Mr. Clutch" shot .325 from the field in that same series.
Thanks for playing though...

BAYLOR???
His COACH had BAYLOR taking 20+ per game, in a series in which he shot .369.
BTW, in three of those losses....Baylor shot that catastrophic 8-22 from the field, which was still better than his 2-14 and 4-18 in his two other blown games.
As for Wilt's SHOOTING...ask his incompetent coach.
Interesting too, that Wilt had a NEW coach his very next season, and guess what...was LEADING THE LEAGUE in SCORING when he shredded his knee (the same knee he injured in game seven of the '69 Finals BTW.)
What a difference a COACH makes.

Lebron actually played the Kobe role pretty well last night.
Took way more shots than his teammate to score a few more points. It was actually slightly better than Kobe most nights, since he was far more efficient, and helped everywhere else on the score sheet.

Feeding him? JR doesn't need anyone to feed him he can create his own shot. When he's that hot Bron shouldn't even be touching the ball. Coach took his ass out because if it, and Bron had to watch the display from the sidelines.

Nahh.. jr's got very narrow shoulders, t Rex arms and estimated IQ of 89.. kobe has a much broader frame, longer arms a generally more equal distribution to carve his skillset with and IQ in range of 115-120. No amount of budz could change that shiet

Find me a game seven where Wilt single-handedly COST his team a game with a play like this...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8T4ZUK-NFKc
Or find me a FIRST ROUND series in which Wilt led single-hnadedly led his stacked 61-21 team down in flames against a 46-36 team...and being thoroughly ouiplayed by a stumblebum named Marc Goobersol...in a series in which Goobersol outscored, outrebounded, and massively outshot the "clutch" Duncan. Oh, and in the clinching game six defeat...Duncan quietly led his team to slaughter with a sheepish 12 point, 5-13 shooting, 5 TO game, all while Goobersol abused him unmercifully.
Oh, and how about the "clutch" Duncan...at his PEAK...in the Laker series from '00-01 thru '03-4?
You remember series' right? Where Phil would lt Duncan feast on the cannon-fodder that LA had at the PF position for three quarters in virtually every game in those years...and then put Shaq on his in the 4th quarters.
In those 4th quarters...Duncan shot a COMBINED .402 from the field. Take away his 12-21 in the '04 series (more on that in a moment), and he collectively shot...get this...23-66, or... .348!!!!
It was so bad in those games, that a shaken Duncan was waving his teammates off when they wanted to get him the ball. Even in the ONE series in which his Spurs beat the Lakers, in 02-03, it was downright hilarious. He shot a combined 7-23 in the 4th quarter of that series. Not only that, but in game five the Spurs led by 25 points late in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter, an unnerved Duncan went 2-6 from the field, 1-2 from the line, committed a TO,...and watched helplessly as Robert Horry missed a potential game-winning three at the buzzer.
How about the famous .4 game, where Fisher hit the game-winner, and essentially won the series? Duncan did hit the go-ahead shot, but it was pur luck. The Spurs inbounded the ball to Timmy, and with Shaq all over him, he damn near dribbled out the shot-clock, and then, fired a wild shot from 18 while falling down, that Shaq came within a finger-nail of blocking...and it miraculously went in. Even Duncan himself, could not believe it. It was poetic justice that Fisher hit the game-winning shot.
And find me a Finals in which Wilt shot .419 from the field, like Duncan did against the Pistons in '05. A Pistons team that was the defensive equivalent of the Celtics of the 60's. BTW, in game seven of that series...the "clutch" Duncan went 10-27 from the field. Had it not been for Ginobili's brilliant game seven, Duncan would have one less ring.
In the '07 Finals, Duncan shot .446 against the hapless Cavs.
Now, find me a THREE must-win playoff games in which Duncan scored 50 points. Hell, find me ONE. Find me a Finals game, and in a must-win game, in which Duncan scored 40 points. Hell, find me Finals game in which Duncan scored 40 points.
Find me FIVE post-season runs in which Duncan averaged 30 ppg (all while averaging over 20 rpg.) Hey, go ahead and find me ONE. Find me the post-season series in which Duncan averaged 35.0 ppg, 37.0 ppg, 38.6 ppg, and 38.7 ppg. Find me a post-season series in which Duncan, facing a HOF center, put up 30 ppg and 31 rpg, and on a .555 FG%.
Give me the MULTIPLE 24.0+ TRB% series that Duncan had in his career. And find me one in which he was going up against an all-time great rebounder, and not only did he put up a 25.2 TRB%, but he outrebounded the guy by a 25.2 TRB% to 18.8 TRB% margin.
Give me the Finals in which Duncan put up 23 ppg, 24 rpg, and shot .625 from the field (all on one leg BTW.) How about a Finals in which Duncan averaged 29 ppg and 28 rpg...all while outshooting the post-season league FG% by 10 percentage points (and against a GOAT center.)
Duncan is the "official" all-time post-season shot-blocker, with 555 in 241 games. Guess what, Chamberlain played in 160 post-season games, and in the known 81 we have blocked shot data... 590 blocked shots.
Here is the REALITY my friend. Aside from FT shooting, Wilt was a MUCH better scorer, a MUCH better rebounder, FAR more efficient from the field (and that chasm is much bigger when you factor in league average FG%'s), a better passer, a better defender, and a MUCH better shot blocker...in BOTH the regular season, and POST-SEASON. And even Duncan's edge in FT shooting is not that significant either, since he was a below average FT shooter in his career.
So, yes, as great as Duncan has been, he is NOT on the same level that Wilt was. Chamberlain has a legitimate claim as the all-time GOAT. Duncan does not, and in fact, he is not even Top-5.

It was kinda strange. What he did was literally the equivalent of handing off to your fullback for 3 straight downs.

JR was like Harden last night, when I thought Harden should not have passed it to anyone. JR should have been taking on the Kobe/MJ role, like Harden.
this... as much i love to see lebron... but sometimes he need to stop shooting if its not going in and pass the ball with the HOT HANDS... :rant
