View Full Version : The only reason Cavs are going to the Finals is because Hawks are banged up

A 100% Hawks was going to beat this injury riddled Cavs in 6 or 7, Cavs lucked out because Hawks was hit with the injury bug at the perfect time.
But lets be real, the Warriors are perfectly healthy at this point of the Playoffs which is almost a miracle. They are going to destroy the Cavs, who really has no other offense creator if Irving is not 90% at the least.
Cavs better finish off the Hawks quick because Rockets clearly rolled over. If they dont buy some time to let Irving heal they are beyond fked, ish is going to be more ugly than last year.

They are.
Coming into the series Hawks had a better chance to advance because they were healthier. But 3 quick injuries to 3 of their starters swing the odds.

You realize Kyrie went down in game 1 too right?
Cavs are worse, they lost their 2nd and 3rd options.

Fine I just thought we got very lucky that the Hawks was hit by 3 injuries of their own.
Hawks have been exposed as fools gold. They were never as good as their record indicated. Taken to 6 games by the 38 win Nets and then got exposed by the Wizards, no chance in hell they win that series if Wall didn't go down. No surprise they're about to get swept by the Cavs. Easily the weakest #1 seed and 60 win team in the history of the league.

Not to mention even at full health this Cavs team was lacking depth and really only top heavy
They have Delly and James Jones getting big minutes

Remember when the 66 win 08 Celtics were taken to 7 by the Hawks and Cavs? Or when the 61 win Spurs got beaten by the 8th seed in 6 games in 2011?
But of course, the Hawks are the weakest #1 seed because LeBron is beating them.

So according to you, JR Smith and Shumpert are just spot up shooters?

No but they are not much of playmakers at a high level consistently where they can be trusted with the ball and expect to be effective against the warriors

I think it'll be an interesting series if the Cavs can get some rest. Kyrie is hurt, others are banged up.
Steph Curry is on FIRE in the WCF, but rightfully so since he's being guarded by Jason Terry. I like Cleveland's chances better with Matthew, Iman, JR, or Lebron guarding their backcourt and Tristan Thompson crashing the boards.

If Shump is healthy enough he'll be running around after Curry all game, just like he was with Korver in this series, before the injury.
Remember, people are quick to point out that the Cavs have an easy path to the Finals because of injuries. Well, so did the Warriors, the difference is that the Cavs are also heavily banged up. The only two games that Tony Allen and Conley played in together, Curry was locked the **** down. Going 7-19 and 8-21, and the Warriors lost both of those games. Conley didn't play in game 1, and Tony Allen was injured in game 4, Warriors won both of those games.
