I hope he becomes the Chinese/Asian Dirk. He has a higher ceiling than Yi Jianlian.

He needs to gain some weight and muscles, but he's only 19 yrs.old. He has the skills. ZQ just needs to be durable in the NBA.

Looks interesting, though there's no chance his J is developed as Dirk's, since they use him primarily to finish on dunks and inside in general, so he will never have Dirk's confidence from the outside. And he will need his J, because there is no way he can box out anyone in the NBA or impose his presence in the paint with that kind of frame.

And there is the age question - is he really only 19?

He sure looks like it, but he might be 22 for all we know.

All in all, a very interesting prospect, not gonna hate.

It's really sad. That guy actually had talent but turns out it all went to the one Asian guy with no work ethic :oldlol:

Remember when Yi Jianlian and Andrea Bargnani were supposed to be the next Dirk? Not a great track record. :oldlol:

dont know why they always say "next dirk nowitzki" if its a non-black goofy-like player.

what about next chris webber or next elton brand. would be already great?

just being 6-9 or 7-0 doesnt make you immediatly the next dirk nowitzki

The next Dirk is given to anyone foreign who might blow away in a windstorm if they ar wearing loose clothing.

Just because Dirk overcame great odds doesn't mean all other skinny tall kids can.

His Jumper is kind of clunky, and we only see him shooting short 17 foot jumpers from the elbows which all big men can make all day.

It took him three dribbles to get to the rim from inside the 3pt line against a midget Chinamen, not sure how he is gonna get around NBA defense in one or two dribbles.

His dunks are mostly short corner on the weakside of zones, those don't exist in the NBA, and as a big in the NBA he won't be in position to get blocks from behind like he did there.

Not shitting, just keeping it real, years of work in the gym and in the weight room to be completed.

Same reasons a wing-sized, white, American born, shooter gets called the next Bird, or any tall PG is the next Magic, or any next great wing is either Jordan (if he can score and is athletic) or Pippen (if he's a defensive/utility player).

Yeah, and rememeber the original "next Dirk", Tskitishvili, drafted at #5 by the Nuggets?

If anything, the "next Dirk" label seems to be a surefire way to jinx a prospect.
