Do the Cavs still have no chance? What would the mj do differently to change the outcome?

He would lose far before he got to the finals...

Only 4 guys have ever averaged 40 PPG in a playoff series, and none have done it more than ONCE... Whereas MJ did it 6 times, whenever his team needed it, and this would be one of those times..
MJ's stats would be similar to what he got against the 57-win Cavaliers in 1989, when they had 3 all-stars (Daughtery > Horford.. Nance > Millsap.. Price = Teague), plus Ron Harper, Hot Rod, and the league's 2nd ranked defense.

scoring a lot isn't going to cut it.... as MJ shown in the 80s when he faced good competition

scoring a lot isn't going to cut it
Jordan's 40/6/8 worked against the 57-win Cavaliers in 1989, when they had 3 all-stars (Daughtery > Horford.. Nance > Millsap.. Price > Teague), plus Ron Harper, Hot Rod, and the league's 2nd ranked defense.
And it's not just scoring, it's defense and MORE assists than Lebron (higher playoff and Finals average thru age 30), plus much better mental toughness as a team... Also, MJ's superior scoring versatility and elite ability in ALL areas of scoring gave his team more versatility and strategic adjustability than Lebron's more rigid, limited scoring style.
Also, MJ was a highly ASSISTED player, which becomes important because he was such a big scorer too - his high volume, highly-assisted game opened up many playmaking/assist opportunities for teammates, while Lebron's highly UNassisted game takes away playmaking opportunities from teammates (turns them into bird-fed, lower ceiling players.. and lower-ceiling team).
That's why MJ did so much more, with less - his game found greater synergies with teammates than Lebron does.

well op raised a hypothetical situation with MJ on current cavs, its not a reach at all to ask if pippen and phil are part of the package

It is, because I specified the exact situation he would be in. You asking if those two would be in is just stupid. On top of that, love isn't playing, and there's a very real possibility that kyrie won't be healthy to play in the series.

MJ's roster in 1989 (when Pippen was 2nd option at 14.4 PPG) was FAR WORSE than Lebron's is right now, even with the injuries.. It's not even close..
Nonetheless, MJ averaged 40/6/8 on 60% TS against the 57-win Cavaliers in 1989, when they had 3 all-stars (Daughtery > Horford.. Nance > Millsap.. Price > Teague), plus Ron Harper, Hot Rod, and the league's 2nd ranked defense.

For 1, MJ would be currently completing a 3peat without ever having left the Cavs.

mj would have told kyrie and love to sit before the playoffs started and swept this pathetic east

We are talking about a guy who has a career losing record without Scottie Pippen and is 1-9 in playoff series without him.
Do you really think he could even get past the second round without his 2nd and 3rd option?

They would easily get to Finals in this weak conference. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either a fool or pressing an agenda.

Never bet against the GOAT.
Some of you might remember his scoring and assist avg in the 1991 Finals...
With good 3 p shooters and okay defenders the GOAT would hammer the GSW
