The two classics that spring to mind to me are the VCdrivesaporchetowork and Senor Cedric.



We are going back 7 years (holy shit, right?), but VC was one of the regulars here for a long time. Posting on Insidehoops was a big part of his life, he even had his own Insidehoops fansite where he hosted and gave out awards to posters each year. Someone started a "show us your crib" thread and this fool tried to pass off an obvious promo image of a rental apartment as his own. ISH detectives got to work and found out he lied about a bunch of other shit too, namely trying to pass of an image titled "handsome man" as himself. Handsome man was a punchline on this website for years. So embarrassed for that guy.

He lied. Made up a secret life. But he didn't do it to hurt anybody. He didn't make up a persona to attack someone. He did what most posters do here is hide his identity. What happened went beyond ridicule. Sure, he should maybe grow thick skin, but why is he ridiculed for leaving? And why is it being compared to starface's situation? It has nothing to do with starface staying after a meltdown.
All in all he had good intentions and made the board interesting. Getting busted was a good laugh for everyone, what I was saying there are worse liars that don't take any slack at all with there 100 aliases
