LeBron's made 5 straight Finals in the East (6 total,) while Kobe made 7 Finals in 10 years in the west (4 in 5 years, would've made 5 straight if not for Duncan's Spurs.)

Kobe

Opposition avg # of wins: 53.29
80% of opposition won 50+ games in regular season
Winning percentage: 81/109= 74.3%
Winning margin: 630/109= +5.8 pts
Best run: 11-0
Worst run: 11-6

LeBron (lockout adjusted)

Opposition avg # of wins: 48.00
40% of opposition won 50+ games in regular season
Winning percentage: 72/94= 76.6%
Winning margin: 661/94= +7.0 pts
Best run: 12-2
Worst run: 12-6

*All but two teams Kobe faced (44,45 wins) cleared LeBron's opposition wins average of 48.00 (90%)

*Only four teams LeBron faced (62,56,56,60 wins) cleared Kobe's opposition wins average of 53.29 (22%)

The problem with criticizing Lebron playing in the Eastern conference is that, if Lebron goes to the western conference, he's not going to be playing on a bad team :confusedshrug:

Imagine Lebron with Houston or GSW or even Memphis or SA :biggums:

Would destroy everybody

Wow, Lebron played with the second GOAT Finals performer and the MDE, whereby he got single teamed the vast majority of the time? Cray. :lol

Thread should be entitled Shaq vs. Lebron's road to the Finals.

Don't worry OP... This is the classic response from stans that have no answer..

It's the same thing as saying "You're right about something I wish you weren't right about... Damn it".

You can't even BEGIN to compare the competition the two players faced - If it were an analogy, Kobe's competition compared to Lebron's is like the JV compared to Varsity.. Literally.. It is.

Stacked rosters.

Two key players go down and you're still chugging along = Goat collusion

How many Finals games did Shaq win before Kobe?

But if Lebron played against the same competition against Kobe (as in playing in the western conference), he would also be on a much better team (such as Houston or Golden State)

Correction Kobe made 3 runs to the finals, Lebron made 6, Shaq made 5.

The kids don't know what real greatness is. All they see is a guy that is 2/5 that won a couple of chips by ring chasing. That's it. Since he just so happens to be the best player THEY ever saw, they think he's a top 10 player. :lol

At least Shaq could make win a playoff series as the best player on his team. Kobe needed the league's best front court to escape the first round in his peak. :lol

Kobe has had Shaq though. Has won 2/7 Finals MVPs, and had been bailout countless times by his teammates. Lebron has been the most dominant, despite 2011. A much better comparison would be with Shaq's road to the Finals.

Look at who the top players were in the east besides Lebron.

Derrick rose, dwight howard, carmelo anthony, paul george, dwyane wade and bosh (this year), 4 all-star hawks, garnett, pierce, allen, john wall, bradley beal.

Damn looks tougher than the west imo.

Damn looks tougher than the west imo.None of those guys post 2013 were real threats to Lebron.

Compare those guys to:

Durant
Westbrook
Harden
Curry
CP3
Griffin
Davis
Leonard

What a joke.

Bosh , Wade , Allen, Love, Irving, JR, Shumpert, Mozgov are overrated? :oldlol:

Aside from JR, the last two are coveted role players people have been trying land for at least the last couple years.

The Lebron Kobe comparison will always be a joke. Kobe > Lebron period. The more Lebron plays, the more that becomes clear. Choking in 11', failing to 3-peat was enough for me - on a weak conference to boot.

TripleA

Lebron is better at scoring, passing, rebounding, defending and makes his teammates better. Why is this still a debate he destroys Kobe in regular stats and advanced stats no matter any stage. The only thing Kobe is better at is midrange jumpshooting and freethrows.

You Kobe stand make me sick the hype has clouded your judgement that Kobe is not that good of Lebron was on the Lakers he would have 8 title dumbasses instead of the a franchise that has a track record of being terrible without Lebron after brad daughters era and has shown to complete incompetent.:facepalm :

As a non biased fan I can say only this:
Lebron:
More efficient
Better passer
Better defender
Better rebounder
Better leader
Better all around player
Better scorer
More MVPs and soon to be more FMVPs too
Give him 5 random players and he will lead them at least to the conference finals

Kobe:
Better outside shooter
Better free throw shooter
More sidekick rings

Couldnt lead his team to the playoffs in the middle of his prime

Hmmm... who should I choose....
its so hard on this one, help me over here please  :oldlol:

LeBron:
Better physically.
Better rebounder, somewhat
Better passer
Has more regular season accolades

Kobe:
Better scorer
Better defender
Better long range shooter
Better mid range shooter
Better post up shooter
Better dunker
Has more rings
Played against far superior competition
Has a winning record in the finals
Never bailed on his team.
Better leader.
Makes his teammates better instead of making them worse like bron.

LeBron:
Better physically.
Better rebounder, somewhat
Better passer
Has more regular season accolades

Kobe:
Better scorer- wrong, lebron has higher career ppg, will be above him in total points in rs and po
Better defender-wrong,never remotely close to Dpoy, Lebron 2nd in 2012
Better long range shooter
Better mid range shooter
Better post up shooter- wrong, lebron scores more on better efficiency in the post
Better dunker doesnt matter
Has more rings wrong- sidekick rings dont matter when comparing two all time greats, so 2=2
Played against far superior competition, played vs all time worst finals team Magic and old Celtics in 2010, Spurs 13,14>anything kobe faced in his career
Has a winning record in the finals being carried by shaq sure helps it
Never bailed on his team. wanted to be traded in 2006 after not making the playoffs, didnt want to play for hornets at the beggining
Better leader, got shaq traded, multiple teammates who were speaking dont think so, phil jackson was the real leader, not kobe
Makes his teammates better instead of making them worse like bron- dumbest thing i have ever seen

this insecurity is pathetic, OP....

I don't think Kobe even had tougher comp from 08-10 than Bron from 11-13.. compare them year to year, and the only time Kobe played tougher comp was in 2010 > 2013.. all while heaving more steady, better built teams.
