Here's another one that shows the Hawks defense on LeBron:

Sure, hate on coach nick but he does have some pretty informative videos

Only thing I don't like about coach nick is sometimes he cherrypicks specific instances of a play or such and makes broad generalizations from that one time

True. He does that a bit.

The video I posted is actually made by someone else though, but was hosted on BBallBreakdown.

In every single post-up from the video, Lebron is only facing 1 or 2 defenders on the strongside.

One of the primary objectives of today's 3-point shooting and spacing strategy is to reduce the number of strongside defenders players must face, by using weakside floor-spreaders to draw defenders away.. This is important because people typically just give lip service to spacing - but this is the ACTUAL EFFECT of spacing (fewer strongside defenders).

It's absolutely amazing that today's players often get 100% pure isolations (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377327), where 4 defenders are on weakside and there's 1-on-1 occurring on strongside.

Previous eras didn't have 3-point shooting or weakside floor-spreaders to draw defenders away, so defenders remained on the strongside - players faced strongsides that were already flooded with all 5 defenders.

Some people like to say he lost his 3 point shooting touch but to me as long as he continues going to the post, he doesn't need the shooting. This is how I have always wanted to see him play. :applause: Warriors have a stronger team but if LeBron continues to go to the post then Warriors will be in trouble.

Legalizing zone-style defense has made every post entry pass an adventure in needle-threading.

“The game is getting out of balance,” says George Karl, now coaching perhaps the league’s preeminent post-up brute. “But until we figure out a way to make the post-up more efficient, we’re not going back. You just can’t win throwing the ball into the post 60 times per game.”
Legalized zone frees help defenders to sandwich dangerous post-up threats. “The reason the post-up doesn’t work anymore is that teams just front now,” Karl says. Help defenders can drift from their assignments to prevent a lob pass over that front, forcing the defense to whip the ball elsewhere.

Smart post passing is a necessity now that defenses can bait post-up threats with all kinds of tricky help coverages. Fifteen years ago, Charles Barkley could back his man down and know the defense really had only two options: leave him in single coverage or send a hard double-team.

When the league scrapped the old illegal-defense rules, it freed coaches to get funky. Players can hover in open spaces; pretend they are going to help; swipe at the ball, and then recover back out to shooters; and emerge unannounced from almost anywhere.

I made correction.

Btw, just an FYI - Lebron was 140th in post-up frequency in 2015 RS:

http://stats.nba.com/playtype/#!/post-up/?dir=1&sort=Time&Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

And 130th in both post up FG% (42.7%) and PPP (0.82):

http://stats.nba.com/playtype/#!/post-up/?dir=1&sort=FG&Season=2014-15&SeasonType=Regular%20Season

So Lebron's post game has a long way to go before it's elite.

I'm sorry, I don't speak regular season. Please come again in playoffs

He's 50% FG in the post in the playoffs

in playoffs, Lebron is 18th in post frequency out of 40.

and he's 14th out of 40 in PPP... So basically, middle of the pack, just like regular season.
